Honestly, it's not a teacher's responsibility to paint and repair classrooms. Their primary role is teaching. Tasks like cleaning, painting, and repairs should fall under the utility staff, maintenance workers, and electricians. The Department of Education is uniquely burdened with having its employees shoulder expenses for government-owned facilities.

This isn't the case in other government offices. Municipal hall employees don't buy their own office supplies or equipment. The same goes for the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Agriculture, and public hospitals - their employees aren't expected to purchase their own materials and equipment.

Other government agencies maintain neat and organized offices without placing the financial burden on their employees. It's time to recognize that teachers shouldn't be expected to bear these expenses either. Their role is to teach, and while they might be expected to maintain some level of cleanliness, repairs and procurement of supplies and equipment should be handled by the relevant authorities.

As such, local government units and parents should offer support when teachers request it, given that maintaining the facilities isn't their primary responsibility. After all, the facilities are used by the pupils and students, who may also be responsible for any damage or deterioration. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ‘‡

A Fatherโ€™s Day Tribute
For the fathers who left home to build a better one.

Not all fathers speak much.
Some love in silenceโ€”
in early morning shifts, missed meals, and long-distance calls.
They carry the weight of two worlds:
one they left behind,
and one they are trying to buildโ€”often alone.

As international student fathers,
they walk unfamiliar roads with quiet courage,
learning a new life while never forgetting the one they came from.
They smile through homesickness,
hide tiredness behind hopeful eyes,
and give their all so their families can one day have more.

They rarely hear โ€œthank you.โ€
They donโ€™t ask for recognition.
But that doesnโ€™t mean their load is light.
They carry not just books, tools, or uniformsโ€”
they carry love, duty, and dreams.

And today, we also honor the ones
who stepped into the role of father without being askedโ€”
to single mothers who became both protector and provider,
to older siblings who took the lead,
to uncles, aunties, lolo, lola, and family friends
who became home when home felt far away.

You didnโ€™t have to, but you did.
You stayed. You gave. You made it work.
You became someoneโ€™s quiet strength.

Fatherhood is not always loud.
Itโ€™s in the quiet grind, the aching hands, the long wait.
Itโ€™s in the sacrifices no one sees.
And yet, it is powerfulโ€”transforming lives.

So today, we say:
To the fathers who left comfort for challenge,
who work, study, provide, and endureโ€”
even when itโ€™s lonely,
even when no one noticesโ€”
we see you.
We thank you.
We honor you.

Handling tantrums can be super tough! Here are 5 ways to help you navigate those tricky moments:

1. *Stay Calm*: Keep your cool, even when your little one's losing theirs. This helps de-escalate the situation and shows your kiddo you're in control.

2. *Validate Their Feelings*: Acknowledge their emotions and offer empathy. You can say, "You're really upset right now, aren't you?" This helps them feel heard and understood.

3. *Offer Choices*: Give your child some autonomy by offering choices. For example, "Do you want a banana or an apple?" This can help them feel more in control and reduce tantrums.

4. *Use Positive Language*: Focus on what you want them to do instead of what not to do. Instead of "Stop screaming," try "Let's use our inside voice."

5. *Set Clear Boundaries*: Establish consistent rules and consequences. This helps your child understand what's expected of them and can reduce tantrums in the long run.

Hope these tips help you handle those tantrums like a pro!
