Another milestone achieved. Another batch of Safety Officers 2 is now secured.

The College of Engineering proudly celebrates the certification of 50 new Civil and Electrical Engineering students as DOLE-certified Safety Officers 2. This accomplishment reflects not only their commitment to professional growth but also their readiness to take on a critical role in the engineering field.

Being a Safety Officer carries a profound responsibility. It is the duty to safeguard lives, uphold the highest standards of safety, and ensure that progress never comes at the cost of human well-being. As future engineers, you are entrusted with the mission of building safer communities and protecting every individual in the environments you help create.

May you embody the principles of vigilance, accountability, and integrity as you carry out your roles.

During the celebration of 𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗠𝗔 𝗔𝗨’𝘀 𝟳𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆, 𝗜𝗚𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘: 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿, the College of Engineering made history at the PASIKLABAN Competition. After 10 years, COE proudly brought home the Championship, marking its place on the Roving Cup.

Our performance centered on the theme MAKATAO, telling the story of how corruption affects people’s lives and highlighting the role of Araullians in driving positive change for our country.

In addition, COE also achieved 2nd place in the Physical AU Challenge among all competing departments and branches.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of our students and faculty and proof that the College of Engineering can excel both on stage and in spirit.

𝐂𝐎𝐄 | 𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐀-𝐓𝐀𝐎

Ang sukatan ng lakas ay hindi kung gaano kataas ang nararating, kundi kung gaano karami ang naiaangat. At hindi lahat ng lakas at galing ay sumisigaw; ang iba ay tahimik na umaakay.

Ito ang pagkilala na ang bawat tao ay may dangal, may halaga, at may kakayahang maging bahagi ng mas malaki kaysa sa sarili. Na ang tunay na lakas ay hindi nagmumula sa kapangyarihan, kundi sa malasakit; hindi sa taas ng tinig, kundi sa lalim ng pag-unawa.

Sa Pamantasan ng Araullo, ang diwang ito ay tahimik ngunit matatag na isinasabuhay. Ipinapakita sa bawat ugnayan, sa bawat pagtutulungan, at sa bawat anyo ng paglilingkod. Mula sa mga kamay na nagbabantay, naglilinis, nagtuturo, gumagabay, namumuno, at sumusuporta—lahat ay may mahalagang papel, lahat ay may tinig, lahat ay may halaga. Lahat ay kabahagi sa paghubog ng mas maliwanag na hinaharap.

Sapagkat ang anumang mabigat ay nagiging magaan kapag marami ang pumapasan. At ang mga pangarap na tila imposible ay nagiging posible kapag pinanday ng pagkakaisa at pananagutan sa kapwa.

Ito ang paniniwalang walang naiiwan. Ang tagumpay ay hindi nasusukat sa iilan, kundi sa kung paano natin iniaangat ang mas marami. Ang tunay na kaalaman ay yaong ginagamit upang maglingkod, magbigay-pag-asa, at magbigay-saysay sa buhay ng iba.

Ngayong gabi, ating masasaksihan—hindi lamang ang isang pagtatanghal, kundi ang isang paalala: sa gitna ng kahusayan, disiplina, at pangarap, may mga pagpapahalagang patuloy na nagsisilbing ating ugat, gabay, at puso. At ang edukasyon ay hindi nagtatapos sa silid-aralan—ito ay umaabot sa komunidad, sa buhay, at sa kinabukasan. At sa landas na ito, walang “ikaw,” walang “ako.” Ang meron lamang ay “tayo.”

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) students of PHINMA Araullo University were honored on February 20, 2026, during the 12th Hard Hat and Pinning Ceremony held at the university gymnasium. With the theme, “Rooted in Excellence, Committed to the Present, Ready for the Future,” the event marked their transition from classroom learning to professional preparation as they gear up for their On-the-Job Training (OJT).

The program began with a solemn processional as BSCE and BSEE students entered the gymnasium alongside their proud parents. They were followed by the College of Engineering faculty and staff, the Chief Operating Officer, the Dean, and the guest speaker, setting a dignified tone for the ceremony.

The singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the PHINMA National Anthem united the audience in a shared sense of patriotism and institutional pride.

𝗔 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲

In his opening remarks, Mr. Restituto O. Bundoc, Chief Operating Officer of PHINMA AU, emphasized the meaning behind the theme. He reminded students that excellence is cultivated through discipline, sacrifice, and perseverance. Commitment to the present, he noted, means embracing today’s responsibilities, while readiness for the future requires courage to face challenges head-on.

Engr. Ailene Q. Supian, Program Head of the College of Engineering, formally introduced the guest speaker, Engr. Bonjoebee R. Bello, founder of CE Box.
In his address, Engr. Bello gave deeper meaning to the hard hat the students were about to wear:

“The hard hat feels heavy because you're finally carrying the weight of the profession instead of just a backpack. You're heading into OJT to see how theory meets reality, and out there, people's safety is the real load.”

He added:

“Don't let the weight get to your head, let it keep you focused. Go out there, learn the work, and wear that hat with integrity. Padayon, future engineers!”
His message underscored that the hard hat is more than protective gear—it is a symbol of responsibility, accountability, and trust. A Certificate of Recognition was then awarded to Engr. Bello in appreciation of his valuable insights and contribution to the event.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴

The highlight of the ceremony was the Pinning and Hard Hatting proper. One by one, students were pinned and donned their hard hats, assisted by their parents and mentors. This symbolic act signified their readiness to apply their knowledge in real-world settings through their OJT.

The ceremony also included the awarding of DOLE Certified Safety Officer II credentials to students who met workplace safety standards—an essential qualification in the engineering profession.
In his closing remarks, Engr. John Paul R. Tumangon reflected on the emotional significance of the event:

“It was a momentous event. Ito ay isang paalala na kinaya mo at kinakaya mo pa. Isa itong paalala na sa kabila ng pagod at puyat, andito ka at bumabangon para sa pangarap. Umuusad ka para sa pag-abot ng iyong pangarap. Pwede kang mapagod pero hindi ka pwedeng sumuko. Pwede kang magpahinga pero hindi ka pwedeng titigil na lang.”

His message affirmed the students’ perseverance while encouraging them to continue striving for their dreams.

The ceremony concluded with the singing of the University Hymn, filling the gymnasium with renewed unity and determination. More than a tradition, the 12th Hard Hat and Pinning Ceremony stood as a declaration of readiness, resilience, and commitment to the future.
