The ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฟ๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐ค๐ฅ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ (๐๐ผ๐ฟ) seminar was successfully conducted last ๐๐ค๐ซ๐๐ข๐๐๐ง 22, 2025, at the ๐พ๐ค๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐พ๐ค๐ช๐ง๐ฉ ๐ค๐ ๐ฝ๐ง๐๐ฎ. ๐๐๐๐๐๐ช๐ก๐๐ฃ, ๐ฝ๐ช๐ฉ๐ช๐๐ฃ ๐พ๐๐ฉ๐ฎ. This activity aimed to raise awareness on ๐๐๐ค๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ผ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐จ๐ฉ ๐๐ค๐ข๐๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฉ๐๐๐๐ง ๐พ๐๐๐ก๐๐ง๐๐ฃ (๐๐ผ๐๐พ) and strengthen the communityโs role in promoting safe, empowered, and violence-free households. The seminar opened with a brief introduction to Gender and Development (GAD), highlighting the importance of gender equality, protection of human rights, and building safe communities for all.
Our first speaker, ๐๐'๐๐ข ๐๐ง๐๐๐ข ๐. ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐,๐๐๐ฟ, provided an insightful discussion on Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-VAWC Law, explaining what VAWC is, its forms, and why understanding this law is vital for every household and community. Our second speaker, ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ก๐ก๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ค, tackled the penalties under RA 9262 and emphasized the critical role of barangays as the frontliners in responding to VAWC casesโensuring protection, immediate action, and proper referral for victims and survivors.
Through this seminar, we continue our commitment to breaking the cycle of VAWC and empowering families to build safer and more inclusive communities.
