A meaningful exchange of ideas took place as the Department of Education Region VI delegation, headed by OIC Assistant Regional Director Miguel Mac D. Aposin, paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Regional Director.

Warmly welcomed by Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, together with Mr. Jesus Misael D. Almendralejo, Acting Assistant Regional Director of COA Caraga, the visit highlighted a shared commitment to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement in public service.

Earlier today, representatives from the Aboitiz group paid a courtesy visit to Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion to discuss the proposed installation of a 5kWp Solar PV Setup (off-grid) and provision of Starlink connectivity for selected schools in the region.

The delegation included Mylin Monding, Reputation and Stakeholder Management Operations Specialist at Therma Marine Inc.; Earl Gio Manuel, Assistant Manager for Corporate Communications and Sustainability at Aboitiz Construction, Inc.; and Jowelle Ann Cruz, Assistant Vice President for Impact Programs at Aboitiz Foundation.

The meeting focused on advancing renewable energy and connectivity solutions that will support school operations, promote environmental sustainability, and ensure reliable power and internet access—especially in geographically isolated and last-mile schools.

Aboitiz Foundation’s Aurora PH project empowers students of last-mile schools with the educational tools they need through sustainable power and digital connectivity.

This initiative highlights the shared commitment to empowering schools through innovative, sustainable energy and connectivity programs that benefit learners and communities.

Maria Ines C. Asuncion expressed optimism that, with the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur (PGAS) serving as host, this year’s Palarong Pambansa 2026 will be a successful and memorable experience for all delegates, athletes, and visitors.
