The Provincial Government of Abra announces the suspension of classes in all levels in both public and private schools throughout the province on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Work in all government offices in the province is likewise suspended.

For private establishments, the decision to suspend work shall be left to the discretion of their respective employers.

The Provincial Government of Abra announces the suspension of classes at all levels in all public and private schools, and work in all government offices throughout the province on August 10, 2026 (Monday).

This measure is being implemented as a precautionary measure amid the continuing effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and the prevailing conditions of the Abra River and other waterways.

Exempted from the suspension are offices and personnel providing essential, emergency, healthcare, disaster response, and other vital services requiring continuous operations.

For private establishments, the suspension of work shall be at the discretion of their respective employers.

The public is urged to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel, and continue monitoring official advisories from authorities.

School Mass

The learners, teachers, and staff of Gongonot Elementary School gathered for their Monthly Roman Catholic Holy Mass, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Roderick Ardaniel, as part of the school's commitment to nurturing the spiritual growth of its community.

In his homily, Fr. Ardaniel emphasized that those who do good to others and faithfully follow God's will are truly friends of God. He encouraged everyone to live a life of kindness, compassion, and service, reminding them that genuine faith is reflected in the way they treat others.

The celebration of the Holy Mass provided an opportunity for prayer, thanksgiving, and spiritual renewal, inspiring the school community to continue living out Christian values in their daily lives.

Newly Elected GPTA Officers Take Oath

The newly elected General Parent-Teacher Association (GPTA) Officers of Gongonot Elementary School officially took their oath of office, administered by Mr. Jomar P. Brub, Principal I.

During the ceremony, Mr. Brub encouraged the officers to work closely with the school in supporting programs and activities that promote quality education and the welfare of learners. The oath-taking symbolized the officers' commitment to serve with dedication, cooperation, and integrity as partners in achieving the school's goals.

Gongonot ES Pupil Participates in National Resilience Month 2026 Slogan-Making Contest

As part of the celebration of National Resilience Month 2026, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of La Paz conducted various activities to promote disaster preparedness, environmental awareness, and community resilience among learners and the public.

Representing Gongonot Elementary School, Jana Lexine Cantorna participated in the Slogan-Making Contest under the guidance of her adviser, Mrs. Jocelyn A. Andres and our School Head Mr. Jomar P. Brub. Through her creativity and talent, Jana showcased the importance of resilience and the vital role of every individual in building a safer and more prepared community.

The participation of Gongonot Elementary School in this activity reflects the school's commitment to nurturing learners who are not only academically competent but also socially responsible and aware of the importance of disaster risk reduction and resilience.

The entire Gongonot Elementary School community commends Jana Lexine Cantorna for proudly representing the school and wishes her continued success in her future endeavors.

Nutrition Month 2026 Celebration

Matagumpay na naipagdiwang ng Gongonot Elementary School ang culmination activity ng Nutrition Month 2026 na may temang "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Ating Pangalagaan" noong Hulyo 24, 2026, sa kabila ng maulang panahon na dulot ng Bagyong Kiyapo.

Isa sa mga tampok na gawain sa selebrasyon ang makulay at malikhaing Nutri-Costume Parade, kung saan ipinamalas ng mga mag-aaral ang kanilang mga kasuotang gawa sa mga gulay at prutas na sumasalamin sa kahalagahan ng wastong nutrisyon at pangangalaga sa kalikasan. Isinagawa rin ang pagbibigay ng mga sertipiko at pagkilala sa mga mag-aaral na nagwagi sa iba't ibang paligsahan na isinagawa sa kanilang mga klase sa MAPEH bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Nutrition Month.

Sa programa, nagbahagi ng mahahalagang mensahe si Mr. Jomar P. Brub, Principal I, at ang School Nurse Designate na si Mrs. Jran Acosta, tungkol sa kahalagahan ng pagkakaroon ng sapat at masustansyang pagkain upang mapanatili ang mabuting kalusugan. Binigyang-diin din nila ang mahalagang ugnayan ng wastong nutrisyon at pangangalaga sa kalikasan bilang pundasyon ng isang ligtas, malusog, at matatag na kinabukasan.

Bilang bahagi rin ng selebrasyon, isinagawa ang isang feeding activity kung saan nabigyan ng masustansyang pagkain ang mga mag-aaral. Layunin ng gawaing ito na hindi lamang maitaguyod ang kahalagahan ng wastong nutrisyon, kundi maipakita rin ang malasakit ng paaralan sa kalusugan at kapakanan ng bawat mag-aaral. Ang naturang gawain ay naghatid ng kasiyahan at nagsilbing paalala sa kahalagahan ng tamang pagkain sa paglaki at pagkatuto ng mga bata.

Lubos ding ipinapaabot ng Gongonot Elementary School ang taos-pusong pasasalamat kina Fr. Melvin Ayao, Deacon Nueva Turdil, at Ma'am Dimple Kaye Palope sa kanilang oras, suporta, at pagiging mga hurado sa iba't ibang paligsahan. Ang kanilang mahalagang kontribusyon ay naging malaking bahagi ng tagumpay ng pagdiriwang at nagbigay ng inspirasyon sa mga mag-aaral na ipakita ang kanilang talento at pagkamalikhain.

Sa kabila ng hindi kanais-nais na lagay ng panahon, naging matagumpay ang pagdiriwang dahil sa aktibong pakikilahok ng mga mag-aaral, g**o, mga magulang, at iba pang katuwang ng paaralan. Muli nitong ipinakita ang pagkakaisa ng buong komunidad ng Gongonot Elementary School sa pagtataguyod ng kalusugan, wastong nutrisyon, at pangangalaga sa kalikasan.

Sa pamamagitan ng mga gawaing ito, patuloy na hinuhubog ng paaralan ang mga mag-aaral na maging malusog, responsable, at may malasakit sa kapaligiran, alinsunod sa layunin ng pagdiriwang ng Nutrition Month 2026.

Gongonot ES Holds First Holy Mass for School Year 2026–2027

Earlier today, amid the inclement weather brought about by Typhoon Kiyapo, Gongonot Elementary School successfully held its First Holy Mass for the School Year 2026–2027. The Eucharistic Celebration was officiated by Fr. Melvin C. Ayao, together with Deacon Nueva Turdil.

In his homily, Fr. Ayao emphasized the importance of building a strong foundation anchored in faith, good values, and trust in God. He encouraged learners, teachers, parents, and school personnel to remain steadfast in their faith and committed to living with integrity, compassion, and perseverance as they begin another academic year.

The Holy Mass marked a meaningful and prayerful opening of the school year, reminding the entire school community that with God as the foundation of all endeavors, every challenge can be faced with hope, unity, and unwavering faith.

Gongonot ES Partially Completes Perimeter Fence

Gongonot Elementary School has partially completed the construction of its perimeter fence, marking a significant step toward improving the safety and security of the school premises.

The project aims to provide better protection for learners, teachers, and school property by establishing a more secure boundary around the campus. School officials and stakeholders expressed their appreciation for the progress of the construction, which is expected to contribute to a safer and more conducive learning environment.

Although the perimeter fence is not yet fully completed, the partial accomplishment demonstrates the school's commitment to enhancing its facilities and ensuring the welfare of the entire school community.

Gongonot Elementary School continues to work closely with stakeholders and partners in pursuing the completion of the perimeter fence project for the benefit of all learners and personnel.
