August 25 | The Empathy Campaign Continues 💜

The Care Center Team led a meaningful Kumustahan and Empathy Class with the learners of Grade 12 CSS A.

Through meaningful conversations, active listening, and shared experiences, the activity provided a safe space for learners to connect, understand one another, and practice empathy.

Sa Learners TeleSafe Contact Center Helpline, mas madaling makahingi ng tulong ang mga mag-aaral at magulang. Pinalalakas din ng DepEd ang counseling, tamang referral, at propesyonal na tulong, katuwang ang National Center for Mental Health.

May malalapitan ka. May makikinig. At may handang tumulong.

Cheyen's academic journey is definitely one worth hearing about. She was able to pass 28 universities, including UP, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, UST, PUP, Bicol University, FEU, Mapúa University, and many more universities across the Philippines and even abroad.

Her hard work also opened doors to 5 scholarships and grants, including the St. La Salle Financial Assistance Grant, Benildean Excellence for Scholastics and Talent (BEST) Scholarship, SM Foundation Scholarship, LPU Gateway Scholarship, and E.T. Yuchengco Scholarship.

But beyond the numbers and achievements, her journey shows something even more important, there are many opportunities waiting for us when we are willing to try, work hard, and believe in what we can do.

BULAN NHS STRENGTHENS SCHOOL SAFETY THROUGH WEEK-LONG PREPAREDNESS REORIENTATION

Bulan National High School strengthened its school-wide safety and preparedness efforts through a series of reorientation sessions conducted from August 10–14, 2026, for all teaching personnel.

Led by the initiative of newly installed School Principal IV, Maria Teresita Realo, the activity focused on reinforcing teachers’ knowledge and readiness in responding to possible ongoing bullying incidents and active shooting situations—critical scenarios that require calm, coordinated, and appropriate action.

Anchored on DepEd Order No. 6, s. 2026 and the school’s Anti-Bullying Policy, the reorientation revisited established mechanisms and protocols for prevention, intervention, reporting, and response. It also emphasized the role of teachers as frontline personnel in maintaining a safe, protective, and supportive learning environment.

More than preparedness, the activity also recognized the need to safeguard the physical, psychological, and emotional well-being of school personnel, who may themselves be directly exposed to distressing and potentially traumatic experiences during incidents involving violence or serious threats.

As reports of violence continue to draw public concern, BNHS remains proactive in strengthening its systems, enhancing personnel readiness, and building a culture of vigilance and shared responsibility. #

As part of the Care Center’s Kumustahan Program, the team visited our Grade 11 STEM students for a pause: kumusta ka?- a safe space to check in, connect, and remind every learner that they are never alone.

Beyond the activity, the program helps identify students who may need additional support and links them to the Care Center for appropriate guidance and intervention—because mental health concerns should never stand in the way of learning and living.

A ship is only as strong as the values of the people on board.

Today the Care Center team met with our Grade 11 Maritime students for an interactive learner formation session on discipline, respect, responsibility, and empathy, upon the request of their adviser, Sir George Valeriano. ⚓

Students were challenged to reflect on the kind of person they choose to become—not only as future maritime professionals but as individuals.

Thank you, Sir George, for making this meaningful engagement possible, and to our Grade 11 Maritime students for your active participation.
