BaZERO Bayanihan at GNVHS Annex: Students Unite for a Zero-Waste School
In line with Proclamation No. 760 declaring January as National Zero Waste Month and anchored on RA 9003, the Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, Guiguinto National Vocational High School Annex held its BaZERO Bayanihan Clean-Up Drive on January 16, 2026.
The activity embodied the true spirit of bayanihan as YES-O Officers, classroom representatives, and student leaders worked hand in hand to promote a cleaner and greener school environment.
Students participated in registration, orientation, area assignments, waste collection and sorting.
Proper hand hygiene was emphasized throughout the activity, and a reflection session highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship. This initiative not only strengthened the values of responsibility, cooperation, and sustainability among the youth but also brought the school community closer to its vision of becoming a Zero-Waste.
The initiative showcased the school communityโs commitment to building a cleaner, greener, and zero-waste learning environment.
To ensure that regular classes were not disrupted, the clean-up was divided into two sessions: the morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM for Grades 9 and 10, and the afternoon from 1:00 to 2:00 PM for Grades 7 and 8.
The activity was carefully prepared through the leadership of YES-O Coordinator Michelle E. Brila, together with the dedicated YES-O Officers headed by President Cindy V. Perales, under the supervision and approval of the School Principal, Kahryz D. Maninang. Their collaborative planning and guidance ensured that the program embodied the true spirit of bayanihan, as YES-O Officers, classroom representatives, and student leaders worked hand in hand to promote a cleaner and greener school environment.
