Prof. Richard F. Sarmiento, our Agroforestry Extension Services Project Leader from BASC–DRT Campus, has been invited by the Dangal ng Bulacan Foundation, Inc. (DBFI) to serve as Resource Speaker for the “Bamboo Nursery Establishment and Management” training under the Agta Bulos Kawayanan: Dumagat Bamboo Forest Initiative (ABK DBFI) on October 27, 2025, at Sitio Suha, Brgy. San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan.

This meaningful initiative seeks to empower the Dumagat Community by promoting bamboo cultivation as a sustainable source of livelihood and environmental rehabilitation, supporting DBFI’s mission of fostering inclusive and sustainable development in Bulacan. 🌿💚

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the farmers and participants from Gawad Kalinga, Sapang Bulac, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan, whose active involvement and partnership played a vital role in this success. 🌱👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

🌿 Final session done, but our mission continues! 🌿
Together, let’s turn our dream of an Agroforestry Demonstration Farm into reality! 🌳💚

📍 On August 15, 2025, we successfully held the final session of our seminar-workshop at Pet One Village, Gawad Kalinga, Sapang Bulak, Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan.

The session on “Monitoring and Evaluation of Agroforestry Practices” started with the warm welcome of Mr. Albert C. Argellon, followed by a recap of the past discussions led by Mr. Nickie T. Punla. The final topic was then opened and thoroughly discussed by our Project Leader, Prof. Richard F. Sarmiento.

The event concluded with the awarding of Certificates of Completion to the participants. But more than an ending, this is the beginning of a lasting partnership with the community—where the knowledge we’ve gained will grow into real action and sustainable change. 🌱

Maraming salamat po, GK Sapang Bulak! With your support, we will continue this journey together. Nawa’y pagpalain tayong lahat ng Maykapal.

Part 2 of our seminar-workshop on Managing and Sustaining Agroforestry Systems was a resounding success! 🌱

Mr. Nickie T. Punla opened the session with an insightful discussion and demonstration on making Fish Amino Acid (FAA), followed by Mr. Albert C. Argellon's practical guide on producing Indigenous Microorganisms (IMO). These liquid organic fertilizers are vital tools in our journey toward truly sustainable farming.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated Gawad Kalinga farmers of Sapang Bulak for their consistent participation and support—despite their busy schedules! 🙌 We are equally grateful for the voluntary assistance from the BASC-DRT Agroforestry Society and One Spirit Alliance officer representatives. Your commitment helps keep our vision alive. 💚
