Notice how we never posted a class pubmat? 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦'𝐬 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐣𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐘 2024-2025 looks back on their amazing journey as they step in as seniors of this year's SPJ juniors.

Who would've thought that the very same people who were so excited to have grade 7 juniors are now the seniors of the 3 lower grade levels

We dedicate this post not only for the love of this section but to our beloved ma'am Iris Alonzo, who has continued to show her love despite that we are no longer in this same roof.

May the memories we made together live strongly in our hearts

𝘼𝙇𝙀! (𝙅𝘼𝙉𝘿𝙍𝙊) 𝙉𝘼 𝙎𝘼 𝙇𝘼𝙉𝙂𝙄𝙏 𝙉𝘼 𝘽𝘼 𝘼𝙆𝙊?

"Manong! Ilang oras pa bago kami dadating pa grade 8?!?!?!"

𝑼- 𝑻𝑼𝑹𝑵?!?
𝑹𝑬𝑽𝑬𝑹𝑺𝑬 𝑾𝑨𝑳𝑲?!?

Whatever the 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗷𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 do, memories will remain as just memories...

💜 || 𝑷𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒑𝒖𝒓𝒑𝒍𝒆—that is how we remember our second year of high school. Free, unapologetic, and bright in its youth. Purple is a spectrum of shades: some as soft as the lingering laughter, some as deep as the friendships rooted into our hearts.

8th grade unfurled like a blooming iris in springdew. It was a beautiful bloom; as beautiful as the voice of our adviser, carrying lifelong wisdom during last period. It was a joyful bloom; as joyful when we came together with our seniors to goof off during free periods. It was a bloom of excellence, like the spirit we strived to embody as journalists in the making.

And as time creates distance between the people we are now and who we used to be, we catch ourselves looking back on the garden we once cared for. Now, standing as the SPJ seniors, what once was our present has become a part of our cherished memories. But we didn't leave that bloom behind—we keep it in our hearts. We feel it everytime this sentimental feeling of wistful yearning consumes us when we fail to say "I miss you."

So, now what?

We continue growing, learning as students, as journalists, and as people. We continue reaching, like how flowers search for the sun—like how we search for limits to surpass. We continue to face the rain; to face any obstacle with perseverance and mistakes with accountability.

So as long as we pursue our ambitious fates with truth and purpose, with kindness to ourselves and to others, we will look back and answer the questions our younger selves have been living for.

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍—The grade 8 students of the Special Program in Journalism📝 had a blast at the DANCE FITNESS program, alongside the 𝗦𝗣𝗙𝗟✨, 𝗦𝗣𝗦🏀, and 𝗦𝗣𝗔🎨 students, at the Bukidnon National High School Gymnasium on February 12, 2025, hosted by the P.E. Human Kinetics club of Bukidnon State University. With effort🔥, determination✨, and team work💪, SPJ 8 was able to garner multiple awards.💜🫶
