In the Philippines, it is enshrined in our laws that this is a RIGHT!

Sec 9c, BP 232 otherwise known as the Education Act of 1982 provides that, "it is a RIGHT of a student to avail the guidance and counseling services in school.."

Sec 25, IRR of RA 11036 otherwise known as the Mental Health Act provides that "all public and private educational institutions shall have a complement of mental health professionals".

Child protection is not a lip service nor media mileage through press releases. It should be acted upon.

EVERY STUDENT DESERVES A COMPETENT AND PROFESSIONAL GUIDANCE (SCHOOL) COUNSELOR.

This event aims to encourage children to speak out on climate justice matters. Their participation in the Global Climate Strike will realize their civil and political rights under the United Nations (UN) Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).

This event is spearheaded by the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration (OUA), through the Bureau of Learner Support Services – Youth Formation Division (BLSS-YFD) in partnership with Save the Children Philippines (SCP).
