The BukSU-Sociology Program will have its SOCIOLOGY RESEARCH COLLOQUIUM on May 25, 2022 at 9:00-12:00nn. Students will be presenting their research outputs from their thesis writing subject. Out of 30 theses from the 3 Directed Research classes, 10 papers are selected to join the competition.

Sociological inquiry and discussions ranging from and the intersections of sociology of agriculture, sociology of the youth, sociology of social media, gender studies, sociology of culture, social psychology, sociology of emotions, sociology of mental health, sociology of the family to social change will be presented.

Join us tomorrow and support our future researchers and sociologists as they disseminate their researches via Nimbus Socius page! Padayon!

In relation of this mornings' event, did you know that AIDs/HIV is a long-term, potentially lethal illness? This sickness can be spread through unprotected sexual activity or even needle exchanges with an HIV/Aids positive individual.
We've all heard of AIDS, but few of us truly get what it entails. Understanding HIV and AIDS can help you be more supportive of people who have it while also minimizing your risks of acquiring it. Learn the principles of HIV/AIDS to become more aware of the disease. If HIV is not treated, it can impair the immune system and eventually lead to AIDS.

Life for an individual becomes hell after being tested positive for AIDs. It is not just the disease, but also the societal stigma and prejudice, as well as the feeling of not being loved or loathed, that operates as a slow poison. We must eliminate stigma and discrimination. We must instill in them, through our love and care, the notion that HIV positive persons can still live a long and healthy life. Though AIDS is a disease that cannot be cured or wiped from society, the only way to combat it is through prevention and education. We must undergo regular and periodic health checks to avoid becoming victims of such terrible diseases. We must also inspire and teach others to follow suit. With increased public awareness of the disease, fewer adults and children are dying from AIDS. The only approach to fight the AIDS virus is through creating awareness.
In commemoration of Worlds Aids day, be a part of breaking the HIV-positive person's silence. Let us work together to spread the word about this issue. Also, encourage people to abstain from sexual activity or get tested.
Fear HIV, not the person who have HIV.

Let us work together to achieve an aids-free planet. Raise awareness and contribute to the eradication of AIDS right now!

This holiday season we are knocking your kind hearts...💚 any amount or school supplies and other materials to Barorawon Nurol Hidaya Madrasatul Islamiya.

An Islamic school run by volunteer Ustadh and Ustahda(teachers) that instills basic tenets of Islam and the arabic language to students. The school does not only accept Islam students but also IP's (lumad) and settlers( Ilonggo, Ilokano, etc. ) who wish to study the arabic language for free.

The school are facing much challenges including the limited support from community and charitable institutions, insufficient textbooks and reading materials and the lack of school facilities.

Why Madrasah is important?
Madrasah Curriculum is an education for peace. When Filipino muslims are educated in Islamic-friendly quality basic education, it will enhance peace process and will contribute to the eradication of separatist sentiments in the minds of the present and future generations.
