Some leaders leave behind achievements.
Some leave behind memories.
But there are leaders who leave behind a standard.

For Dr. Marychel C. Laguitao, excellence was never just a word. It was something she demanded, nurtured, and lived by.

When she came to Valencia Technical Vocational High School in 2023, she brought with her a straightforward leadership style—and a phrase that would eventually become familiar to many:

“Wa’y lami.”

At first, it stung.

But over time, those two words became a challenge:
Do better.
Try again.
You can still improve.

Behind the awards, recognitions, competitions, performances, and milestones of VTVHS are countless stories of people who were pushed beyond what they thought they could do.

Now, as she takes on a new chapter as Acting Public Schools District Supervisor of Valencia, the standard she cultivated in one school carries with her to a bigger community.

This documentary is not simply about a principal.

It is about leadership, growth, excellence, and the people who were changed by being challenged.

🎬 BEYOND “WA’Y LAMI”
The Legacy of a Leader Who Refused to Settle

Because sometimes, the words that challenge us the most become the words that change us forever.

The story does not end here.
