Ink Club Launches First Semester with TANEM Tree Planting Activity

The Ink Club kicked off its first semester activities by partnering with fourth-year pre-service teachers from the College of Education for a tree planting event on October 17, 2025, on campus during the College of Education Week.

The organization participated in the TANEM: A Sustainable Legacy Initiative through Project T.A.N.E.M. (Thrive, Advocate, Nurture, Educate and Manifest), which promotes ecological resilience, environmental awareness, and care for natural resources aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals 13, 14, and 15.

Class president Grace Taguiling, who delivered the orientation, emphasized the activity's deeper meaning. "This event is not just about planting trees—it symbolizes our commitment to building a sustainable future and nurturing environmentally-conscious educators," Taguiling stated.

The initiative aligns with Republic Act No. 10176, the Tree Planting Day Act, which inspires graduates to leave a positive environmental legacy through reforestation efforts.

"As future educators, let us be the catalysts for change—not just in classrooms but also in our environment," Taguiling urged participants.

Through this collaboration, Ink Club demonstrated its commitment to community service and environmental stewardship for the semester ahead.
