SCHOOL PARTICIPATES IN DIVISION-WIDE MODULE DRY RUN

Ampucao National High School, together with the other public elementary and secondary schools in the division of Benguet, participated in the dry run for modular learning or use of printed and video modules from July 27-31 in preparation for the 'new' school year.

The school, together with the other public high schools in Itogon district II, was tasked to administer self-learning modules in Mathematics 7. Other learning areas like Science, English, Filipino, MAPEH, Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao, Araling Panlipunan, among others, were also assigned in other districts.

To facilitate the activity, the faculty randomly selected 16 learners who come from nearby sitios or who have access to Ampucao NHS teachers in order to ensure closed monitoring while observing health and safety protocols.

School principal Isabel Aquino explained during the orientation of the participating learners and parents to treat the activity in a classroom-like manner in which subject schedules have to be strictly followed but with the assistance of any member of the family who is able to guide the learner. She also emphasized on the stringent adherence to the guidelines set by the division office relative to the conduct of the dry run.

AMPUCAO NHS STAFF TESTED NEGATIVE FOR COVID-19

Twenty-seven teaching and non-teaching staff, including the school head of Ampucao National High School tested negative for coronavirus as revealed by the Itogon municipal health services office (MHSO) which conducted their swab testing last July 21 and 28.

The activity is in adherence to the goal of the municipal government of Itogon headed by Mayor Victorio Palangdan of ensuring safety and well-being of teachers as they prepare for the opening of classes in the new normal by August.

Conducted by batch, the activity aims to target all teaching and non-teaching personnel from the different elementary and secondary schools in the municipality.

School principal Isabel Aquino said such move of the local government unit, which is in response to the pandemic, is a big help considering that it is free of charge.
