𝗗𝗔𝗕𝗘 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀: 𝗗𝗔𝗕𝗘 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗬 𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗧 𝗡𝗥𝗖𝗣 2026

Engr. Ma. Grace C. Sumaria, a faculty member of the VSU Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering, took her oath as a newly instituted Associate Member of the National Research Council of the Philippines under Division VII - Engineering and Industrial Research at the 2026 Annual Scientific Conference and 93rd General Membership Assembly.

One of the requirements for recognition as an associate member is to have authored research publications, wherein Engr. Sumaria contributed 13 articles to local and international SCOPUS-indexed journals.

Engr. Sumaria is currently taking her PhD by Research at Universiti Putra Malaysia. The department commends her for her significant contributions to AB engineering research.

The RERC welcomed its visitors from Visayas State University Tolosa, together with the delegates from Nagoya City University. This visit provided the the guests with practical exposure to renewable energy technologies. Upon arrival, the guests were introduced to various technologies being developed in the center as well as the center's core activities. Afterward, the RERC Director led the visitors on a tour of the Energy Park, where they witnessed different renewable energy systems in action through on-site demonstrations.

The VSU Renewable Energy Research Center (RERC) successfully conducted a training on Solar PV Systems at Brgy. Marcos, Baybay City on December 20, 2025.

With Mr. Alain Bonife serving as the resource speaker, the session covered the fundamentals of photovoltaic technology and essential maintenance procedures. The training concluded with a hands-on workshop where participants engaged in the actual installation and setup of basic solar PV systems.

The students were introduced to various renewable energy technologies at the center as well as its role in addressing global challenges.
