Little steps lead to doors of opportunities. 💛

We’re so excited to start a new series where we proudly celebrate our students’ growth, progress, and little victories—with the permission of their parents, of course!

For our first KAYA KO! Student Spotlight, we’re celebrating Chad!

Chad has been learning with us for years, and one of his recent challenges has been learning to use the Filipino language. As an English speaker, using another language was initially challenging and, at times, dysregulating for him. Speaking, reading, and comprehending Filipino did not come easily.

So instead of rushing him, we met him where he was. ✨

We tapped into his interests, especially his love for animals to make learning more meaningful and engaging. Through consistent practice, patience, and the right support, Chad has made such a wonderful leap forward. Today, he can understand Filipino better and even write his own sentences!

Moments like this remind us that progress doesn't always happen in big jumps. Sometimes, it happens through small steps, repeated practice, and someone believing that you can.

Kayang-kaya mo 'yan, Chad! Keep going! 🌱

TEACHER’S MONTH! 🌱💛

For this post, we’d like to introduce our girl team behind KAYA Learning Center!👩🏻‍🏫✨

We’re a team of educators and graduates of Education and Psychology, which means we’re not just looking at grades, worksheets, and whether a child finally wrote their letter the right way. We believe that learning is a lifelong process, and that process comes with A LOT of emotions, feelings, struggles, little victories, and the occasional “Teacher, im soOo tired!” 😅

That’s why our goal is not only to support academic growth, but also to help children develop the confidence, independence, emotional skills, and love for learning they need to eventually stand on their own.

And yes, teaching is often compared to a roller coaster ride—and honestly, we agree. 🎢

There are highs, lows, unexpected turns, moments when you scream a little inside, and moments when you wonder, “Ano naaa?”😂

Add different personalities, different learning needs, different moods, and sometimes 10 different stories happening at the same time… and you’ve got yourself one very interesting ride!

But would we get off?

NO!!! 😂💛

Because somewhere between the messy activities, silly conversations, difficult lessons, big feelings, and tiny breakthroughs are the moments that remind us why we chose to teach in the first place.

And to all the educators who have been part of MINDFUL and now KAYA—thank you. 🤍

Every teacher who has walked through our doors has left something behind: a lesson, a kind word, a new perspective, a little bit of patience, a silly joke, a comforting voice, or simply a moment when a child felt seen and understood.

Your voices have been heard, your efforts have mattered, and we know that each child you have taught carries a little piece of your teaching with them.

To our present teachers, we hope you know that what you do goes far beyond teaching a lesson.

You are helping shape how children see themselves, how they face challenges, how they treat others, and how they learn to believe in what they can do.

Happy Teacher’s Month!🌻

Here’s to the educators who teach, guide, encourage, laugh, repeat instructions approximately 47 times a day,and still come back the next day ready to do it all over again. 😂

KAYA Learning Center is looking for a patient, playful, and passionate Academic Educator to join our team! 💛

We welcome fresh graduates, especially graduates of Education or Psychology, who have some previous teaching, tutoring, or childcare experience.

We’re looking for someone who:

✨ Is patient, warm, and playful with children
✨ Can confidently handle young learners
✨ Has a genuine interest in helping children learn and grow
✨ Has good communication and classroom management skills
✨ Is willing to learn and grow with our team
✨ Can work on a part-time schedule and is available to work on some weekends when needed

🌿🍃 SIBOL’s Favorite Activity of the Week: Nature Hunt!🍃🌿

At first... there were lots of little “Oh no!"🤭🍂

The ground felt funny, the leaves were "icky," and picking up stones wasn't everyone's favorite idea. But after a few moments, something wonderful happened—they became curious. ✨

Before we knew it, our little explorers were eagerly searching for leaves, tiny stones, and other nature treasures, proudly showing off every new discovery!

Our Nature Hunt wasn't just fun—it was also a wonderful sensory experience. Feeling different textures, smelling fresh leaves, listening to birds and rustling trees, and exploring the outdoors helped develop their sensory processing while encouraging curiosity, observation, language, and fine motor skills.

Sometimes, the best learning begins just outside our classroom—with a little courage to touch something new. 💫
