Batangas State University, The National Engineering University, marked its 123rd Charter Day on April 13 at BatStateU Pablo Borbonโbringing together the Red Spartan community in a full-day celebration anchored on shared values, unity, and purpose.
From the 123 Strides Ahead: Red Spartan Integrity Walk and the vibrant Makabayan Fair, to moments of reflection through the Multi-Faith Service, the celebration set the tone for a day grounded in integrity and inclusivity. The highlight of the morning program was the State of the National Engineering University Address of University President Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, followed by the official launch of the Universityโs CORE (Cultivating One Red Spartan Ethos), symbolizing a renewed commitment to values-driven leadership.
The program continued with the CORE Conversations: A Fireside Chat with Leaders in Service, a showcase of Red Spartan stories through Kwentong Red Spartan, and the launching of the Employee Service Awards, recognizing dedication and excellence within the University.
Energy and Red Spartan pride filled the afternoon with the Great Red Spartan Quiz Show and the Red Spartan Amazing Race, culminating in the highly anticipated Mr. and Ms. BatStateU The NEU 2026 and an electrifying Red Spartan Rhythms OPM Concert that brought the community together in celebration.
More than a milestone, BatStateU@123 stood as a collective affirmation of what it means to be a Red Spartanโgrounded in CORE values, driven by excellence, and united in engineering the future.

Representing Pablo Borbon Campus, Lee Russell Castillo and Racy Anne Ramos were hailed as Mr. and Ms. BatStateU The NEU 2026.
Taking the first runner-up spots were Rodrigo Miguelle Lansangan and Maxquel Hoseรฑa of Alangilan Campus. Second runners-up were Keith Arthur Espiritu from Lipa Campus and Louis Jane Mendoza from JPLPC-Malvar Campus. Third runners-up included Ariel Hernandez of JPLPC-Malvar and Elisha Claire Tuscano from Lipa Campus. Completing the circle of winners as fourth runners-up were Jeyd Apolona and Silvherlyn Caisip of ARASOF-Nasugbu Campus.

After a fierce competition, the champions of both events were recognized for their exceptional teamwork, resilience, and knowledge. Team Excellence (BatStateU Alangilan) took home the victory in the Amazing Race, showcasing unparalleled collaboration and determination, while the quiz champions from Team Resilience (Pablo Borbon) demonstrated their deep understanding of BatStateUโs rich history and core values.
In the Amazing Race, Team Faith (Lipa) secured 2nd place, followed by Team Resilience (Pablo Borbon) in 3rd. Meanwhile, the Quiz Show saw Team Faith (Lipa) take 2nd place, with Team Integrity (Central) coming in 3rd.
