Private School Leaders and Educators Strengthen Collaboration Through Learning System Reforms Orientation and Technical Assistance Sessions
By Mr. Alex Conti, DCA School Registrar

Private school leaders, administrators, and teachers gathered on May 14–15, 2026, for a series of orientation sessions, meetings, and technical assistance activities aimed at strengthening educational leadership and supporting the implementation of current learning system reforms. Held at the St. Bridget College, Batangas City, and organized through the collaborative efforts of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Batangas City and BCPRISA, the activities served as an important platform for educators to receive updates on DepEd policies, compliance requirements, and major educational initiatives for School Year 2026–2027.

The first day of the activity focused on the Orientation on Learning System Reforms, where participants attended an informative session led by Dr. Jerome T. Buenviaje, Assistant Secretary for the Learning System Strand. He discussed the guidelines and key considerations for the implementation of the three-term school calendar for SY 2026–2027, providing school leaders and teachers with valuable insights into the objectives, processes, and expected outcomes of the new system. The orientation helped participants gain a clearer understanding of the reforms and better prepare for their implementation in their respective schools.

On the second day, private school heads and administrators participated in the Hybrid Meeting and Technical Assistance Provision organized by the SDO Batangas City and BCPRISA. The session featured discussions from education leaders and regional supervisors who provided guidance on the implementation of policies, standards, and regulatory requirements for private schools. Among the key topics discussed were the Regional Standards for Ocular Inspection, requirements for Senior High School recognition, and updates on the Revised Senior High School Curriculum.

Participants also received comprehensive orientation on the procedures for Special Order applications and Tuition Fee Increase applications. The discussions clarified documentary requirements, submission procedures, and timelines to help schools comply efficiently with DepEd regulations. An open forum allowed school administrators to raise concerns, seek clarifications, and engage in meaningful dialogue regarding compliance and implementation-related matters. Beyond the informative discussions and policy updates, the two-day activity highlighted the strong sense of unity, collaboration, and camaraderie among the participants. School leaders and educators remained actively engaged throughout the sessions, reflecting their commitment to continuous improvement and quality education.

The conduct of the activity underscored the Schools Division Office’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with private schools through sustained technical assistance and collaborative engagement. By equipping educators and administrators with updated information and practical guidance, the initiative reinforced the shared responsibility of ensuring accessible, relevant, and quality education for all learners.
