Alangilan Red Spartans spoiled the lone HABINAYA partylist’s bid for a full nod in the latest ElekSSCion 2026 after one of its candidates failed to secure a seat in the Executive Board, based on the official results that the Supreme Student Council (SSC) Alangilan released on May 11.

Ranielle Joshua C. Manalo, a third-year BS Geodetic Engineering student, failed to secure the Business Manager position after garnering only 3,114 votes or 49.2% of the total votes cast, falling short against abstention votes, which reached 3,215.

Student voters elected former President of FOCUS BatStateU Camera Club Alangilan and incoming fourth-year BS Electrical Engineering student Angel Gionni S. Ornales as the next Student Council President after he garnered 5,189 votes or 88.9%, alongside 1,140 abstentions.

Furthermore, Ornales’ running mate Christopher R. Pacheco, former President of the College of Engineering Technology Student Council Alangilan, also garnered 4,943 votes or 78.1% to secure his seat as the next Executive Vice President.

Meanwhile, voters from the extension campuses delivered near-unanimous support for the Vice Presidents for Student Development and Governance positions as John Harry S. Casanova of Balayan Campus garnered 97.7%, Roan Adriel T. Chavez of Lobo earned 98.7%, and Gian Carlo D. Sanchez of Mabini achieved a perfect 100% vote turnout.

For Alangilan, student voters elected Dene Antoine M. Dimagiba with 4,486 votes or 75.1%, alongside 1,484 abstentions.

Candidates filled all positions, including the Deputy Secretary General, Finance Officer, Deputy Finance Officer, Auditor, Public Relations Officer, Business Manager, and college governor posts, after each candidate secured sufficient votes to assume their respective roles.

A total of 7,572 votes were cast by student voters across all campuses in this year’s elections, which remained uncontested following last year’s unslated polls.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀, 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝘀 𝘄𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗧𝗖-𝗔𝗖𝗕𝗘𝗧 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁

The Program Evaluation Team resumed its accreditation visit and continued its scheduled itinerary at Batangas State University, The National Engineering University - Alangilan, May 6.

Day 2 featured the continuation of interviews with the university’s program chairs, further review of year-round reports, and final verification of documents.

Meanwhile, the evaluators also conducted private debriefing and deliberation sessions to assess each program’s strengths and document key observations.

The interim review formally concluded following a closed-door exit meeting.

𝗣𝗧𝗖-𝗔𝗖𝗕𝗘𝗧 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁, 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗨 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝟭 𝗛𝗘𝗜 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Evaluators from Philippine Technological Council - Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET) arrived at Science, Technology, Engineering, and Environment Research (STEER) Hub, marking the first day of the accreditation visit, May 5.

Batangas State University, The National Engineering University received its Tier 1 HEI accreditation certificate, which was granted to the institution last July 2025, giving its engineering programs eligibility for global recognition under the Washington Accord.

The accreditation body is set to re-evaluate the university’s Bachelor of Science programs in Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical, and Sanitary Engineering until tomorrow, to assess how the programs sustained commitment to quality assurance, constant improvement, and global competetiveness relative to their initial accreditation visits in September 2023.

Meanwhile, the assessment includes in-person interviews with university officials, college administrators, program coordinators, faculty members, and students.
