Batangas State University, through its Center for Innovation in Engineering Education (CIEE), proudly recognizes its partner, the Centre for Engineering Education UTM (Universiti Teknologi Malaysia), for its significant role in co-leading the BatStateU trademarked OBEE National Training Series under the National Engineering Education Development (NEED) Program.
Most recently, the VisayasโMindanao Leg (Batch 3) of the OBEE National Training Series was conducted on October 14โ17, 2025, at the Belmont Hotel Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, gathering 65 participants from 33 HEIs mostly from the Visayas and Mindanao regions, along with select representatives from Luzon).
This VisMin Leg marked the 3rd and final installment of the 2025 OBEE National Training Series, following the Luzon Leg (Batch 2) held on June 2โ5, 2025, at Kingsford Hotel, Paraรฑaque City, and the foundational series (Part 1 and Part 2) conducted from December 9โ11, 2024, and February 4โ5, 2025, respectively, at Paraรฑaque and Batangas State University Pablo Borbon Campus, respectively.
Collectively, these earlier batches engaged over 220 engineering deans and program chairs from across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, strengthening institutional competencies in curriculum design, program assessment, and continuous quality improvement (CQI).
We extend our appreciation to Prof. Dr. Shahrin Mohammad and Dr. Nurzal Effiyana Ghazali of UTM CEE, who have co-developed and co-delivered the OBEE modules alongside the BatStateU OBEE team led by CIEE Director Prof. Divina Gracia D. Ronquillo, with supports from the national government, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Philippine Technological Council (PTC).
Together, we continue to build a stronger, outcome-based foundation for Philippine engineering education!

The BatStateU-Industry Microcredentials Program has commenced for-credit offerings for undergraduate and graduate students, with instructors and industry practitioners also participating in the initial batches for professional development.
Beginning February 2025, intensive courses on GIS and BIM have been conducted at the Engineering Design and Simulation Laboratory, STEER Hub, Alangilan Campus. The ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ซ๐๐๐๐ and ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐จ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ (๐๐๐) ๐ฐ๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐จ๐๐๐ฌ๐ค ๐๐๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ ๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ courses have successfully run several batches, attended by ๐๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ undergraduates, students of the ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ ๐ข๐ง ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง (๐๐๐๐), professional architects, and faculty members. The combined number of trained participants has now approached one hundred and is expected to exceed that milestone by the end of the ongoing batches.
These offerings are made possible through BatStateUโs partnerships with leading industry providersโ๐๐๐จ๐๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐ฌ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ข๐๐ฌ, ๐๐ง๐. ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ ๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐๐ง๐. ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐โin collaboration with the Universityโs own teaching and research personnel. These partnerships ensure that learners gain direct exposure to industry tools, standards, and best practices, delivered through thoughtfully designed pedagogy and assessment.
In January 2025, the CIEE introduced the BatStateU-Industry Microcredentials to senior students of the College of Architecture, Fine Arts and Design (CAFAD) at the Leonardo da Vinci Amphitheater, with strong interest noted from the BS Architecture program. The orientation and rollout were conducted with the support of the CAFAD Dean Ar. Edmon C. Mendoza.
The courses are ongoing and will soon open their next batches for students, faculty, and professionals from other disciplines. Programs in engineering, technology, computing, and related fields are encouraged to explore upcoming microcredentials tailored to their respective industries.
