๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ 24th PHILIPPINEโ€‘SPANISH FRIENDSHIP DAY

Every June 30, we commemorate a shining chapter in history โ€” the end of the Siege of Baler in 1899. It stands as a powerful reminder that even after years of conflict, kindness, respect, and humanity can prevail over enmity. Instead of treating the remaining soldiers as enemies, Filipino leaders chose honor and compassion โ€” turning a close of war into the beginning of lasting friendship.

Today marks the 24th year of this observance under Republic Act 9187. Through centuries, our bond has grown deeper โ€” woven together through shared language, traditions, arts, values, and culture that have become part of our very identity. This celebration honors our past, cherishes our present cooperation, and reaffirms that true friendship, built on understanding and gratitude, stands strong across generations โ€” friends then, friends now, and friends always. โœจ

On June 18, an earthquake drill was held at Baler National High School. All students actively and properly participated in the activity, following the safety procedures and instructions given by the teachers and disaster response team.

During the drill, the four Girl Scouts who had undergone training in basic life-saving skills played an important role. They applied their knowledge by assisting students who were simulated as injured during the activity. They demonstrated proper first aid response and helped ensure that the โ€œvictimsโ€ were safely cared for and moved to secure areas.

The drill was successfully conducted, and it helped increase the awareness and preparedness of the students and staff in case of an actual earthquake.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ Celebrating Freedom, Honoring History
Today, we proudly join the nation in commemorating Philippine Independence Dayโ€”a reminder of the bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the heroes who fought for the freedom we enjoy today.

As members of the Baler NHS Girls in Green, we recognize that true patriotism goes beyond remembrance. It is reflected in our daily actions through service, leadership, responsibility, and our commitment to making a positive impact in our school and community. The freedom we celebrate today inspires us to become active citizens who contribute to nation-building in our own meaningful ways.

May this day remind us of the importance of unity, courage, and love for our country. Let us honor the legacy of our heroes by continuing to uphold the values they fought for and by striving to become young leaders who serve with purpose and integrity.

Together, let us celebrate the pride of being Filipino and the enduring spirit of a nation that stands strong through every challenge.
Happy Philippine Independence Day! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›
