𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬, 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 💜
In celebration of Psychology Day 2026, Asia Pacific College of Advanced Studies brought together fellow Asianistas for a day filled with connection, learning, and meaningful conversations last April 24, 2026, at MPH 2A/2B.

Set in a podcast-style seminar, we had the chance to listen, reflect, and engage with our guest speakers, Mr. Micco Angelo D. Flores, RPm, and Ms. Abigail R. Ningala, RPm, with Ms. Mhira De Guia guiding us as a host smoothly throughout the program. The program began with an opening prayer and remarks from the organization’s Vice President, Ms. Chierra Balagtas. Participants actively engaged in an icebreaker before diving into the seminar proper, where thought-provoking questions from the audience were answered by the speakers that created a space for learning and reflection. The event also included the awarding of the guest speakers, fun games with exciting psychology-themed merchandise such as pins and tote bags, and interactive booths during lunch including a photobooth and freedom wall. The afternoon continued with more games and a reflective activity, concluding with closing remarks from the Psycheion Circle President, Ms. Audrey Arriola, marking the end of a day filled with connection, insight, and shared experiences. It wasn’t just about listening, but about feeling seen, heard, and connected as Asianistas.

More than just an event, Psych Connect 2026 served as a reminder of the importance of building genuine connections and nurturing our understanding of ourselves and others. It reminded us that psychology lives in our everyday connections—how we understand, support, and grow with one another as a community. Truly, the spirit of Asia Pacific College of Advanced Studies BS Psychology shines through every shared story, laugh, and moment of reflection.

𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝘆—𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆. 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐈𝐧𝐜. marked its 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 with a week-long series of activities from 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟔 𝐭𝐨 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, highlighting student talent, academic engagement, and community involvement. Psychology students actively participated in the five-day event, demonstrating both excellence and solidarity across various competitions and initiatives.

The celebration opened on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟔 with 𝐆𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐤 𝐃𝐚𝐲, featuring friendly game competitions among different houses. Under House of A, 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐈𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐢𝐤, while students also competed in Jackstone and Dama. Representatives from House of C participated in Bottle Up, and House of D showcased teamwork and strategy in Si-Sling Plate and Stickball. The opening day set an energetic tone, fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship among participants.

On 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟖, the focus shifted to academic enrichment through a seminar titled “𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.” The session gathered students for a discussion centered on understanding cognitive and emotional foundations, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic education and professional growth in the field of psychology.

The third day, held on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏𝟗 at the 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫, featured two major highlights: 𝐂𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐀𝐏𝐂𝐀𝐒 and the 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. CineAPCAS presented a student-led short film titled "𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤" with 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐞ñ𝐚 portraying Philo, 𝐊𝐚𝐲𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠 as Philo’s classmate, 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐳 as the APCAS instructor, and 𝐉𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚 as Mamang Sorbetero. Behind the scenes, the production was directed by 𝐌𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐃𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐚, with 𝐈𝐬𝐚𝐚𝐜 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐫 serving as assistant director. 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨 led as director of photography, while 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐈𝐛𝐞 produced the film. The short film was written by 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐲 𝐉𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐚 and 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠, and editing was handled by 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬.

The 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 followed, where 20 psychology students delivered a dynamic performance inspired by the style of BINI and SB19, under the guidance of dance instructor 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫. The presentation drew strong audience support and showcased the performers’ coordination and stage presence.

Activities continued on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎 with 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡, 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 and a 𝐓𝐆𝐈𝐅 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲. At the APCAS covered court, interactive booths engaged students and visitors alike. “𝐆𝐔𝐇𝐈𝐓 𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐀,” a doodle photobooth by 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐭𝐚𝐬, offered personalized illustrated keepsakes. “𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬” by 𝐉𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠 provided lighthearted entertainment, while “𝐖𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡” served turon and shanghai with a fortune-style concept. Meanwhile, at 𝐌𝐆𝐄 𝟓, an 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 functioned as an open house for prospective students interested in inquiring about or enrolling in APCAS programs.

The celebration concluded on 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟏 with a 𝐅𝐮𝐧 𝐑𝐮𝐧 held from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Among the notable finishers was psychology student 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐨, who placed among the first 100 runners and received a medal. The final activity was an 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 conducted in 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐧, 𝐒𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥, 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧, organized through the joint efforts of officers from the Psychology and Education programs. The initiative underscored the institution’s dedication not only to academic and extracurricular excellence but also to community service.

Through competitions, performances, academic discussions, and outreach efforts, the 27th Founding Celebration reflected APCAS’ continued growth and the active involvement of its students in both campus life and community engagement.

𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐄𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐏𝐂𝐀𝐒’ 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐍, 𝐒𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐋, 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐀𝐍 — In line with the 27th Founding Celebration, the Asia Pacific College of Advanced Studies, Inc. extended its celebration beyond campus walls through a community outreach program held on February 21, 2026, at a daycare center in Calaguiman, Samal, Bataan.

As part of APCAS’ commitment to holistic education and community engagement, officers from the Psychology and Education programs spearheaded an interactive activity titled “Inside Feelings, Out in Expression: Letting Emotions Speak Through Storytelling.” Inspired by the animated film Inside Out, the session introduced children to core emotions — Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust — in a manner that was both relatable and age-appropriate.

The team, composed of facilitators from the BSP program — Audrey Jill D. Arriola, Shania Nicole V. Fernando, and Ahriannah Belle A. Payad — alongside Basic Education representatives Lara Mae Turla and Mikylla Nicole Salvador, departed from APCAS at 8:30 AM to ensure coordinated arrival in Samal. Upon reaching the daycare center, the facilitators immediately began their structured 15-minute presentation.

With an estimated 30 children in attendance, the storytelling session encouraged participants to recognize their emotions and understand healthy ways of expressing them. An interactive “fishbowl” activity allowed the children to anonymously write down feelings they were experiencing and the reasons behind them, reinforcing the message that emotions are normal and shared by many.

School supplies and small treats were distributed after the program, further reflecting APCAS’ advocacy for service-driven initiatives. The outreach concluded at 10:20 AM, after which the group returned to join other academic programs conducting parallel activities for parents and youth at the covered court.

Through this initiative, APCAS demonstrated that its founding celebration is not only a commemoration of years, but a reaffirmation of its mission — to nurture academic excellence, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility within the community it serves.

Behind every groundbreaking theory and therapeutic breakthrough is a legacy of women who dared to ask "why?"

These are the women who saw what others overlooked, asked what others avoided, and quietly built the foundation of the psychology we know today. They studied memory, identity, growth, and life itself, driven by a genuine wish to understand people more deeply. Because of their courage and curiosity, psychology slowly became a space that listens more deeply and sees people more fully.

From Mary Whiton Calkins to Mamie Phipps Clark, women have been the backbone of psychological research and mental health advocacy. Their questions opened new ways of understanding how we think, feel, and grow. This , the APCAS - CAHS BS Psychology department celebrates the minds that paved the way and the future female psychologists currently in our classrooms.
