📚 Para sa mga nagsasabing "Ang dami mo namang libro!" 🤣

Another school book finished! ✔️

Binili ko itong book noong Kinder pa si Summer. Excited na excited akong ipabasa... pero nung sinubukan namin noong Grade 1, ramdam kong hindi pa siya ready. Masyadong mabigat ang kwento para sa kanya, kaya ibinalik muna namin sa shelf.

Fast forward to Grade 5...

✨ Viola! (O sige na nga, voilà 😆)

Natapos na ang libro. Mas na-appreciate niya ang kuwento, mas malalim ang conversations namin pagkatapos.

Kaya ito ang paalala ko sa kapwa book hoarders...

Hindi lahat ng librong nasa shelf ay "natengga." Minsan, naghihintay lang sila ng tamang reader at tamang timing. ❤️

So yes... justified ang pag-ho-hoard ng books! 😂📚

May libro rin ba kayong ilang taon munang natulog sa bookshelf bago tuluyang nabasa?

Living in the province has its own blessings.

Last Sunday, I came across a historical marker about the Abucay Massacre of 1647

a story I honestly don't remember reading in any of my history books.

More than 200 Kapampangan soldiers sacrificed their lives defending Abucay during the Dutch invasions. Their bravery became part of the foundation of our province's history, yet many of us have never heard this story.

It made me wonder...

How many untold stories are hidden in our own hometowns? 🇵🇭

Sometimes, the greatest history lessons aren't found inside classrooms—they're waiting on old churches, historical markers, and quiet streets we've passed by countless times.

As someone who loves learning, today reminded me that we should never stop being curious.

✨ Maybe our children don't need to travel far to appreciate history. Perhaps it begins by discovering the stories in our own backyard.

Hindi naman required gumawa ng portfolio, pero gusto ko lang. 😅 (Bida-bida tayo eh!)

Pero to be honest, mas madali na ngayon compared dati. May sarili nang system si Summer. Every day, siya na ang nagno-notes ng mga natapos namin for the day at ina-upload niya sa portal niya. Kapag gagawa na ako ng portfolio, kinokopya ko na lang ang daily entries niya at nilalagyan ng pictures. Since this Monday, siya na rin ang nagsa-scan ng written work niya. Grabe, ang independent na niya! Siya na ang nag-aayos ng files at uploads sa portal niya.

Ginagawa namin ang portfolio hindi dahil required, kundi para ma-track namin kung ano ang mga na-accomplish namin every week. Para rin makita namin kung may kailangan bang i-adjust sa routine namin.

Last year, hindi namin ito nagawa dahil sa dami ng major changes at challenges na pinagdaanan namin. Kaya sobrang thankful kami sa homeschool provider namin. Dahil sa guidance at support nila, hindi namin naramdaman na napabayaan ang studies ni Summer. At para sa akin, iyon talaga ang role ng isang homeschool provider—hindi para gawin ang homeschooling para sa'yo, kundi samahan ka, gabayan ka, at suportahan ka habang hinahanap ninyo ang rhythm na babagay sa inyong pamilya.

Of course, hindi lang ito ang ginagawa ni Summer every week. Nasa "light days" pa rin kami habang nag-a-adjust. Hindi pa perfect ang routine namin, at okay lang iyon.

Sa mga bago pa lang sa homeschooling, alam kong overwhelming talaga sa umpisa. Ang daming books, resources, schedules, at advice na makikita online. Minsan feeling mo kailangan sabay-sabay mong gawin lahat.

Pero ito ang natutunan ko:

✨ Trust the process.
✨ You do you.
✨ Give yourself 2–3 weeks to observe your family's strengths and weaknesses before making big adjustments.
✨ Plan ahead, but don't be afraid to tweak your routine.
✨ Be gentle with yourself para mas maging gentle ka rin sa anak mo.

At higit sa lahat, balikan mo palagi ang "why." Bakit mo pinili ang homeschooling? Ang focus ay hindi ang perfect planner, perfect schedule, o perfect portfolio. Ang focus ay ang anak mo—siya ang dahilan kung bakit mo ito sinimulan.

Kapag feeling overwhelmed, pahinga muna. Hindi kailangang perfect. Ang kailangan ay functional, may learning na nangyayari, at patuloy kayong umuusad.

Homeschooling is not about having the most beautiful portfolio. It's about building a love for learning, nurturing relationships, and growing together—one ordinary day at a time. 💛

No online class

So today, we took our classroom outside.

One thing we always want to remind ourselves is that homeschooling is more than academics. Learning doesn't only happen in front of a screen or inside a workbook.

Today, Summer had the opportunity to interview the rescuers, ask questions, interact with them, and simply be curious. Seeing real people serve the community gave her lessons that no textbook alone can teach.

Curiosity. Confidence. Communication. Gratitude.

These are just as important as math, science, and literature.

Sometimes, the best classroom has no four walls. 💚

While my students are busy with exams and enjoying their vacation, I'm doing homework too.

Behind the scenes, I continuously learning, improving, and upgrading my skills so I can serve our homeschool families even better.

Because quality education doesn't stop when classes pause. Every new skill we gain today becomes a better learning experience for our students tomorrow.

This year, we were deeply inspired by the speech of one homeschool ate during a recognition program. It reminded us that every child deserves to be seen, valued, and included.

So for this school year, our family's advocacy is Inclusivity. ❤️

This certificate may have Nanay's name on it, but Summer sat beside me throughout the seminar. We learned together, asked questions together, and will carry these lessons together.

Because homeschooling isn't just about teaching our children.
It's also about raising kind hearts who make room for everyone.

Okay... regudon (reorganize) na naman kami ng schedule. 😂

Akala mo settled na? Hindi pa. Ngayong officially nagsisimula na ang online classes, shuffle na naman lahat. Parang Tetris ang homeschooling—hanap ulit ng tamang fit. 🤣

Marami ang nagtatanong kung bakit 4-day school week lang kami.

Simple lang: Ayokong punuin ang calendar. Gusto kong punuin ang childhood. ❤️

Our homeschool rhythm looks like this:
📚20 to 30 mins Independent Learning
👩‍🏫 1 hour learning with Nanay
🌿 Then the rest? Breaks, reading, hobbies, errands, workshops, and life itself.

Hindi dahil konti ang oras, konti na rin ang natutunan.

Sa homeschooling, hindi sukatan ang haba ng school day. Ang mahalaga ay may natitirang energy para magtanong, maglaro, magbasa, at mabuhay.

Flexible ang schedule namin dahil marami rin kaming lakad, commitments, at opportunities to learn outside the four walls of our home.

At oo... after nito, malamang may version 27 na naman ang schedule namin. 🤭😂

One of the perks of living in a province rich in history is that learning doesn't stop in books. ❤️

Every historical place we visit brings the stories we read to life. Suddenly, the people, the events, and the lessons feel real.

That's why learning about World War II becomes so much more interesting. Instead of just reading dates and names, we get to stand where history happened and imagine the stories behind them.

This is one of the reasons we love homeschooling—because the world becomes our classroom. 📚🏛️✨
