Every third Friday in May, we celebrate and encourage conservation efforts aimed at protecting our animals from endangerment and extinction.🤲

The Philippines is one of the most biodiverse countries, home to a wide range of plant and animal species. Unfortunately, we have a great number of endangered species caused by pollution, deforestation, hunting, and illegal trade.

One of our critically endangered species is the Philippine Eagle. 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟲𝟭𝟰𝟳 prohibits hunting, killing, capturing, and possessing the bird. Their protection was further established with 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗰𝘁 𝗡𝗼. 𝟵𝟭𝟰𝟳 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act. 🛡️

Wildlife conservation efforts are still at the grassroots level. Effective government action, public support, and education can aid in the long-term protection of our endangered animals.✍️

Whether you are a seasoned performer or someone with awkward moves, 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 remains a 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲, 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 way to take care of our mental health. During these academically demanding weeks, it is more important than ever to let our bodies groove and 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆.💃🕺

💡THROWBACK: Anniversary of the World’s Oldest Dated Printed Book🌟📖

May 11 marks the anniversary of the world’s oldest dated printed book. The Diamond Sutra, a Chinese woodblock-printed scroll created more than 600 years before the Gutenberg Bible. Commissioned by Wang Jie to honor his parents, the scroll now rests in the British Library as a powerful reminder of humanity’s long history of preserving stories, wisdom, and culture through print.

Even centuries later, the Diamond Sutra continues to symbolize the enduring value of knowledge, storytelling, and the written word. 📖
