Students from the Architecture program of Saint Louis University (SLU) showcased creativity and innovation after emerging as top winners in the ๐Ÿฑ๐—š ๐—•๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ณ๐˜: ๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜„ competition organized by Globe Telecom as part of the 2026 Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City.

According to the official invitation from Globe Telecom, the competition challenged college students to envision the future of their cities through ๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป๐˜€ that illustrate how ๐Ÿฑ๐—š ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ป๐—ผ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ด๐˜† ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—ฒ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐˜„๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—น๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐˜€. The event for Baguio participants was held on

Competing against fellow student creatives, three teams from SLUโ€™s Architecture program secured the top three places, highlighting the universityโ€™s strong presence in design innovation and digital creativity.

Taking ๐—™๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฃ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ was the team โ€œ๐—ช๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜€โ€, composed of BS Architecture 2 students Nicolle P. Antonio, Pauline Kate S. Buendia, Kate Gabrielle S. Mina, and Mayceline D. Pespes. Their winning concept impressed judges with its imaginative interpretation of technology and community, presenting a vibrant vision of a future city empowered by connectivity.

The ๐—ฆ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฃ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ award went to โ€œ๐—ฃ๐—ง๐—ฅ๐—–๐—ž ๐—”๐—ง๐—•๐—ฃ.โ€, represented by BS Architecture 3 students Philip V. Cacal, Christel Jane D. Meanwhile, ๐—ง๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ ๐—ฃ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ was secured by โ€œ๐—š๐—ข๐— ๐—ข ๐—ง๐—›๐—˜๐—ฅ ๐—˜๐—”๐—ฅ๐—ง๐—›,โ€ another team of BS Architecture 3 students composed of Felicity Anne Agasa, Jessa Maningding, Ijie Babe Munar, John Denver Saguid, and Elijah Rae Sundiam. Their entry emphasized sustainability and the relationship between technology, the environment, and future urban living.

Beyond recognition, the competition offers a meaningful opportunity for young designers. Globe announced that the winning design may be transformed into a physical mural, potentially becoming a permanent landmark in Baguio City or within participating schools. Winners will also be featured across Globeโ€™s official social media platforms, giving student artists exposure to a wider audience during one of the countryโ€™s most celebrated cultural festivals.

The success of the SLU Architecture teams demonstrates the creativity and forward-thinking mindset of emerging architects. By merging art, technology, and urban imagination, these students have not only represented their university with pride but have also contributed inspiring visions of how connectivity can shape the cities of tomorrow.
