Our Community Health Nursing duty in Bayabas, Sablan was more than just surveys, paperwork, and requirements. It was an experience filled with meaningful encounters, new lessons, challenges, and unforgettable memories.

From walking to hard-to-reach households, listening to families, learning about their way of life, experiencing the culture and traditions of Sablan, to witnessing the strong sense of unity within the community—we learned that nursing is not only about caring for patients, but also about understanding, connecting, educating, and serving communities.

We may have arrived as student nurses, but we left with a deeper appreciation of what it truly means to care.

A week of learning, serving, and growing together.

🌿 SABLAN SAID “LET’S GO!” and we came ready to serve, learn, connect, and make memories! 💚✨

From early starts to busy moments, every step of our duty brought something new. We worked together, shared laughs, faced challenges, and learned from the people and community around us. Along the way, we discovered that service isn’t only about completing responsibilities—it’s about showing up with dedication, lending a helping hand, and making a positive impact, no matter how small.

Between the work, the conversations, the unexpected moments, and the countless smiles, Sablan gave us more than just a duty experience. It gave us opportunities to grow, build stronger connections, appreciate teamwork, and create memories that we’ll gladly take home with us. 💚📸✨

And in the end, we didn’t just complete our duty, we collected stories, smiles, lessons, and memories along the way. Sablan, you really made this one for the books! 💚🌄

Our CHN Experience

Our community duty in Sablan involved long walks, house-to-house visits, and health teachings.

We spent time with the residents, learned vicariously through their experiences, and gained a greater comprehension of what a community truly means on a personal level. Through these experiences, we also saw what it means to serve and help others in our own little ways as student nurses aspiring to improve the country's healthcare system. It was not always easy, but doing everything together made the challenges lighter and the experience more meaningful.

Our feet were tired, but the journey was fulfilling and one we will always remember.
