Representing the University of Baguio - School of Nursing, researchers, Aezer Cydrick L. Lopingay and Tanya D. Palgue, together with their research adviser Josefa Angelica Remedios P. Cabuang, are set to present their study on gender-based violence to an international audience in Malaysia. ๐
Research Title: Prevalence and Lived Experiences of Gender-Based Violence Among University of Baguio College Students: A Mixed-Method Assessment
Their research aims to amplify student voices and share evidence-based insights that contribute to greater awareness, meaningful dialogue, and action beyond the university setting.

Sustaining Global Nursing Excellence: UB-SON and JPU-China Student Exchange Program
Since 2024, the University of Baguio, through its School of Nursing, has established a strong and growing partnership with Jining Polytechnic and Zhongke Bole (Linyi) Education Technology Co., Ltd.. This collaboration continues to open international learning opportunities for nursing students, reinforcing a shared vision of excellence in healthcare education.
Now in its second year, the program proudly welcomes its 2nd batch of student exchange participants, composed of second-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing students. This new group continues the legacy of global engagement, bringing with them enthusiasm, dedication, and a commitment to learning beyond borders.
During the three-month program, students are immersed in academic and cultural experiences at Jining Polytechnic, where they gain exposure to diverse teaching strategies and healthcare practices. With the support of Zhongke Bole Education, the program also emphasizes intercultural competence, preparing students to become adaptable and globally competitive nursing professionals.
The continuation of this partnership reflects the enduring commitment of all institutions involved to nurture future nurses who are not only clinically competent but also culturally aware and globally responsive. As the 2nd batch embarks on this journey, they carry forward the mission of the University of Baguio to provide transformative education that transcends geographical boundaries.

UB Nursing Students Power SBAAโs โLove ON The Runโ
Baguio Cityโs streets came alive on March 14, 2026, as the University of Baguio School of Business Administration and Accountancy (SBAA) hosted its much-anticipated fun run, Love On The Run. The event drew spirited participants who tackled 3KM, 5KM, and 10KM routes, weaving through scenic city roads with energy and enthusiasm.
Adding a vital layer of safety and care, Level 4 Nursing students from the University of Baguio, together with their dynamic clinical instructors, stepped up as medics for the activity. Their presence was felt across strategically placed stations at Azalea Entrance, Pacdal Circle, Panagbenga Park, and Anacleto Drive inside the university. With their readiness and professionalism, the nursing team ensured that runners were well-supported throughout the event.
The collaboration between SBAA and the School of Nursing highlighted the universityโs strong culture of unity and service,where different disciplines come together to make community activities not only successful but meaningful.
The Love On The Run fun run was more than just a race; it was a celebration of teamwork, wellness, and the UB spirit of service, proving once again that when schools within the university join forces, the community runs stronger together.

Six delegates from the School of Nursing, together with Dean Helen D. Alalag, embark on their journey to Jining Polytechnic University in Shandong, China, as part of the International Student Exchange Program from March 15 to June 15, 2026โa milestone that reflects the School of Nursingโs commitment to expanding global learning opportunities for its students.
Throughout the three-month student exchange program, the delegates will engage in nursing-related lectures, clinical observations, and cultural learning activities, allowing them to gain valuable insights into Chinaโs healthcare system while broadening their professional and cultural perspectives.
This international academic engagement is supported by the Broadening Reach through International Development and Global Experience (BRIDGE) Program and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goalsโparticularly SDG 4, SDG 8, and SDG 17โstrengthening global perspectives in healthcare education and collaboration. ๐ฅ๐โจ

University of Baguio School of Nursing: Empowering Communities, Saving Lives
Through the S.A.L.U.N.-A.T. initiative, the University of Baguio School of Nursing once again proved its steadfast commitment to service and community empowerment. On March 10โ11, 2026, the school proudly partnered with the historic John Hay Hotels in Baguio City, equipping their second batch of newly hired employees with intensive Basic Life Support (BLS) Training.
Led by a passionate team of trainers โ Mr. Vince Paul Andaya, Mr. Jerome Changitan, Ms. Aissa Pater, Mr. Jude Lester Olod, Mr. John Alejo Nefalar, Ms. Fawn Maday-a, and Ms. Kathlyn Agagen , the two-day program went beyond technical skills. Participants mastered Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Bandaging Techniques, Patient Packaging, Patient Carries, and Standard First Aid, while being reminded of the vital role they play as frontliners safeguarding guests and clients.
This was not just training , it was a powerful affirmation of the Universityโs mission: to nurture healthcare professionals who extend their knowledge beyond the classroom, transforming communities with life-saving skills and fostering resilience.
By empowering institutions like John Hay Hotels, the School of Nursing continues to strengthen lives, build confidence, and embody the spirit of compassionate leadership that defines the University of Baguio.

The School of Nursing โ University of Baguio, in collaboration with the School of Natural Sciences and the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center, successfully conducted the ๐๐๐ด๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐จ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ ๐๐น๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ to promote awareness and encourage voluntary blood donation within the university community. The initiative aims to support hospitals and patients who require blood for surgeries, medical treatments, and emergency situations, highlighting the importance of collective action in saving lives.
Through the collective effort of donors and volunteers, a total of ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ฌ ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ด๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฏ๐น๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ were successfully collected during the drive, significantly contributing to the blood supply needed for patients requiring transfusions and emergency care.
During the activity, students from different academic programs actively participated and demonstrated their professional knowledge and skills. The event was also joined by clinical instructors and nursing alumni, whose presence highlighted their continued commitment to service and community health. Nursing students assisted in the screening process by obtaining donorsโ vital signs, conducting health interviews, and performing initial assessments to determine donor eligibility.
