๐ฃCALL FOR DONATIONS FOR BARANGAY GUISAD SURONG๐ฃ
Mabuhay!
On the evening of August 9, 2026, amid continuous heavy rains brought by the enhanced southwest monsoon, a landslide struck three houses in Barangay Guisad Surong, Baguio City, affecting five families. Lives were lost, several residents remain missing, and search and rescue operations are ongoing. Fourteen families, 62 individuals, including children as young as three years old have been forced to evacuate their homes and are currently sheltered at the Baguio International Academy, with seven more evacuees at the Guisad Surong Barangay Hall.
The evacuees urgently need food, blankets, clothes, and toiletries. Every act of generosity, no matter how small, will make a difference for our neighbors in this time of loss and displacement.
How you can help:
1) In-kind donations: Ready-to-eat food, drinking water, blankets, sleeping mats, clean clothing (adults' and children's), hygiene kits, and toiletries may be dropped off at Room F208, RIECO Office, or brought directly to the Baguio International Academy or the Guisad Surong Barangay Hall
2) Cash donations โ May be sent in-person to the RIECO Office so that the office can issue an acknowledgment receipt for proper accounting.
Let us stand together as one community for the affected families of Guisad Surong. The RIECO Office shall wait for donations for the affected families until August 15, 2026.
