Learning Through Every Ladle: Grade 9 Learners Showcase Culinary Skills in TLE Laboratory Class

The aroma of freshly prepared soup filled the TLE Laboratory of Bagu Integrated School as the Grade 9 learners demonstrated their culinary knowledge and practical skills during a laboratory class on the preparation of different kinds of soup under the guidance of Ma'am Glema G. Akiapat. The activity also served as a Classroom Observation, highlighting effective teaching strategies and authentic, hands-on learning experiences.

Throughout the session, learners worked collaboratively in groups as they prepared a variety of nutritious soups while applying proper food preparation techniques, sanitation practices, kitchen safety, and teamwork. Guided by Ma'am Akiapat, the students confidently followed procedures, measured ingredients accurately, and practiced the correct methods of cooking, reflecting the competencies expected in the Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) curriculum.

The classroom observation showcased an engaging learner-centered environment where practical application complemented classroom instruction. Learners displayed enthusiasm, creativity, and responsibility as they transformed theoretical knowledge into meaningful culinary experiences. The activity emphasized not only technical skills but also critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and appreciation of healthy food preparation.

School Head Oliver P. Ngiwas, who conducted the classroom observation, commended the well-organized laboratory activity and the active participation of the learners. The observation highlighted the importance of experiential learning in developing lifelong skills and preparing students for future opportunities in the field of cookery and hospitality.

Bakun Municipal Police Officers Conducts Kapkap Operation and Anti-Bullying IEC at Bagu Integrated School

BAGU, Bakun, Benguet – In line with its commitment to ensuring a safe, secure, and learner-friendly school environment, personnel from the Bakun Municipal Police Station visited Bagu Integrated School to conduct a Kapkap Operation followed by an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign for the junior high school learners.

The activity commenced with the Kapkap Operation, which was carried out in coordination with school officials. The operation aimed to ensure that learners were not bringing prohibited or dangerous items into the school premises. Conducted in a respectful and orderly manner, the activity served as a preventive measure to maintain peace, safety, and discipline within the campus while upholding the rights and dignity of every learner.

After the Kapkap Operation, the police officers facilitated an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign focusing on the prevention of bullying and other issues affecting the youth. Learners were oriented on the provisions of the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013, the importance of mutual respect, responsible behavior, cyber safety, and the harmful effects of illegal drugs and other unlawful activities. The officers also encouraged students to report incidents of bullying or other safety concerns to their teachers, school administrators, or the proper authorities.

The activity highlighted the importance of collaboration between the school and law enforcement agencies in promoting a safe and supportive learning environment. Through awareness and preventive initiatives, learners gained valuable knowledge that will help them make responsible decisions and contribute to a culture of respect and discipline.

Bagu Integrated School remains steadfast in its mission to work with partner agencies in fostering a peaceful, disciplined, and child-friendly school community where learning can flourish.

BAGU INTEGRATED SCHOOL KICKS OFF SY 2026–2027 WITH LEARNER AND PARENT ORIENTATIONS

Bagu Integrated School officially opened the School Year 2026–2027 with meaningful activities that strengthened the partnership among learners, parents, school personnel, and community stakeholders.

The first day of classes began with an orientation for learners led by School Head. During the activity, learners were welcomed and oriented on the school's programs, policies, rules, and expectations to help them start the school year with confidence and enthusiasm. The school personnel were also introduced, allowing learners to become familiar with the teachers and staff who will guide them throughout the academic year.

The opening program was further inspired by the presence and encouraging messages of the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) officials, who expressed their unwavering support for the school's endeavors and the education of every learner in the community.

In the afternoon, the school conducted its First General Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) Meeting. Parents and guardians were oriented on important school policies, programs, projects, and activities for the school year. The meeting also served as a venue to strengthen collaboration between the school and families in promoting quality education and learner welfare.

One of the highlights of the gathering was the election of the new set of PTA officers. Through a democratic process, Mr. Mayo Valdez was elected as the new PTA President, entrusted with leading the organization in supporting the school's initiatives and programs.

The successful conduct of the first-day activities demonstrated the strong partnership among the school, parents, local government officials, and other stakeholders. Their continued support significantly contributes to the success of Bagu Integrated School and plays a vital role in helping learners develop their full potential. Through collective effort and shared commitment, the school remains steadfast in its mission of providing quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education for all.

"Together, we build a stronger school community and empower every learner to achieve success."
