On-the-Job Training at Boracay Island has been successfully completed.

On-the-Job Training of 4th year BS Tourism Management students from Saint Joseph College of Baggao in Boracay Island has been successfully completed. This meaningful journey allowed students to step beyond the classroom and immerse themselves in real-world experiences within the tourism and hospitality industry.

Throughout their training, the students had the opportunity to apply their knowledge, improve their communication skills, and develop professionalism while assisting guests in hotel and working closely with industry staff. They encountered both challenges and successes that helped them grow, adjust to real work situations, and become more confident in their chosen field.

More than just a requirement, this OJT became a foundation for their future careers. The lessons learned, the experiences gained, and the memories created will serve as a guide as they continue to pursue excellence in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Internship at Bohol–Panglao International Airport has successfully come to an end.

The Internship of the 4th year BS Tourism Management students from Saint Joseph College of Baggao at Bohol–Panglao International Airport has successfully come to an end. During their training, the students were given the opportunity to experience the daily operations of one of the country’s modern airports, allowing them to develop practical skills and a deeper understanding of the tourism and aviation industry.

Through this internship, the students gained valuable knowledge, discipline, and real-world experience that will guide them in their chosen careers in tourism. The experience will serve as an important foundation as they continue their journey toward becoming future professionals in the industry.

MICE 2025: 2nd SJCB Tourism Convention Successfully Concluded

The MICE 2025: 2nd SJCB Tourism Convention, organized by the 4th year BSTM students of Saint Joseph College of Baggao and led by their chairman Mr. Jayjay P. Geronimo, was successfully done held yesterday, November 15, 2025. This year’s theme, “Beyond Borders: The Global Ties of Tourism and Hospitality,” focused on widening the knowledge of tourism students and helping them understand the global connection of the industry.

The event gathered all SJCB tourism students to learn from the invited resource speakers. Our speakers were Mr. Edmer R. Sibbaluca, a faculty member of the College of Hospitality Management at Cagayan State University – Andrews Campus, and Mr. Ronaldo D. Manzanilla, the founder and president of Mefats Aviation Academy. Their valuable knowledge and insights made the convention more meaningful and informative.

Special thanks are also given to the adviser of MICE 2025, Ma’am Aica S. Arellano, the BSTM program chair Sir Jacinto B. Unite Jr., and the CBM Dean Doc Randy R. Peralta, for their guidance and support throughout the event.

Once again, thank you to all the participants, and congratulations to the organizers for a job well done.

Josefino Pride Shines at the 6th AHTOMP (Alliance of Hospitality and Tourism Movers of the Philippines) National Awards Night 2025!

Saint Joseph College of Baggao’s Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management program proudly made its mark during the 6th AHTOMP National Awards Night 2025, held on October 31, 2025, at the Manila Grand Opera Hotel & Casino.

Out of more than 385 nominees from different schools and institutions nationally, three representatives from SJCB-BSTM—Sir Jacinto B. Unite Jr., Mr. Lester B. Ramos, and Mr. Jayjay P. Geronimo—were honored as part of the Top 100 national awardees.

The BSTM Program Chair, Sir Jacinto B. Unite Jr., received the title of the “Most Exemplary and Distinguished Professional Hospitality Educator of the Year.” His dedication to teaching and shaping future tourism professionals serves as a great inspiration to both students and colleagues.

Two of his hardworking and passionate students also brought pride to the institution. Mr. Lester B. Ramos was recognized as the “Most Outstanding and Inspiring Student Leader and Achiever of the Year,” while Mr. Jayjay P. Geronimo earned the award for “Most Outstanding and Ideal Student Leader and Achiever of the Year.”

The AHTOMP National Awards Night honors outstanding and extraordinary individuals who serve as the pride of every Filipino in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry. It highlights the dedication, leadership, and excellence of those who contribute to the growth of the profession.

This recognition is not just the pride of the awardees, but also the pride of the entire Saint Joseph College of Baggao family. Their success shows the school’s strong commitment to quality education, leadership, and service.

Batch Two Consists of Eight Groups of BSTM Student Researchers Who Successfully Defended their Thesis Studies!

Today, October 19, marks another remarkable day for the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management students of Saint Joseph College of Baggao. Batch two, which consists of eight groups of student researchers, has successfully finished and defended their thesis studies.

The event was attended by the respected and dedicated panel members: Dr. Marissa Q. Palomares, Dr. Alberto P. Calixto, Sir Frederick Tomas, Sir Eric Agoyao, Ma’am Luthgarda Faye Ancheta, and Sir Jacinto B. Unite Jr., who were there to guide and help improve each group’s research paper through their valuable comments and suggestions. Despite the nervousness and trembling moments in front of the panelists, the students bravely presented and successfully defended their studies. Also present during the event was the school statistician, Sir Ronnie James D. Sagario. Their valuable feedback helped the students see what went well and what still needs improvement.

A special thanks to the BSTM research instructor, Sir Dan Paolo Ramos, for his constant guidance, patience, and support throughout their research journey.

Today, October 18 marks a significant moment for the Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management students of Saint Joseph College of Baggao, batch one that consist eight groups of student researchers have successfully completed and defended their thesis studies.

Present during the event was the school statistician, Sir Ronnie James D. Sagario, along with the respected panel members, Sir Jacinto B. Unite Jr., Sir Edmer Sibbaluca, and Ma’am Emmalyn Rodriguez, who provided valuable insights and constructive feedback to help strengthen the students’ research outputs.

Saint Joseph College of Baggao - Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management joins the 2nd Cagayan Inter-Schools Tourism Skills Olympics

The Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management of Saint Joseph College of Baggao proudly participated in the 2nd Cagayan Inter-Schools Tourism Skills Olympics held on September 20, 2025 at the Leonardo N. Mamba Memorial Gymnasium, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
