The Pythagorean Theorem is essential in geometry because it explains the relationship between the sides of a right triangle. But this theorem is not only useful in mathematics, it can also be applied to many reallife situations.

📜A LITTLE HISTORY

Long before Pythagoras, ancient Babylonian mathematicians already knew about the relationship between the sides of right triangles. They used mathematical methods for practical purposes such as measuring land and building structures.

Later, Pythagoras and his followers became associated with the theorem and its connection to geometry and mathematical proofs.

⚙️ THE FORMULA

a² + b² = c²

In a right triangle, Side c is found at the opposite side of the 90 degree angle, this is the longest side and it is called the hypotenuse.The sides a and b are called the legs of the right triangle.

Using the formula a² + b² = c², we can find an unknown side when the other two sides are known.

🧮LET’S SOLVE
A famous example is the 3-4-5 Pythagorean triple:

3² + 4² = 5²
9 + 16 = 25 ✅

This means that a triangle with side lengths 3, 4, and 5 forms a right triangle.

As officers of the 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀, we showed that we are not only about 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡. ➗📚 We also care about our environment and believe that the youth can make a difference through active participation, unity, and meaningful actions. 💚💛

Through this activity, we had the opportunity to care for our environment while working together to promote a well-maintained, organized, and sustainable community. 🌿✨

We are truly grateful to have been part of this meaningful ceremony and, most importantly, to have received the “𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐞ñ𝐨” award. 🏆✨ This recognition is a meaningful achievement for 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀, and we are deeply thankful for the opportunity to be recognized for our dedication, hard work, and contributions.

Imagine trying to do 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒉 without the number 𝟎. 📏

Long time ago, people had ways to show that there was "nothing" or an 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒚 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆, but zero was not considered a number. 📜

The Babylonians used a blank space or symbol to indicate an 𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒕𝒚 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 in a number, but they did not treat it as a number itself. 🧭🔢

Many years later, 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 recognized 𝟎 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 and began using it in mathematics. 🇮🇳➕

In 628 A.D., the Indian mathematician 𝑩𝒓𝒂𝒉𝒎𝒂𝒈𝒖𝒑𝒕𝒂 wrote rules for working with zero in his book Brāhmasphuṭasiddhānta. 📖✍️

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥?

𝒁𝒆𝒓𝒐 could be treated as a 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒏𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 and used in 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔. 🧮✨

Adding zero does not change a number. 🚫➕

𝒁𝒆𝒓𝒐 is important because it helps show the 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒅𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 in a number. 📍🔢

We were truly grateful to be part of this meaningful event, where we learned the importance of taking care of our 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.

The seminar reminded us that we don’t have to face our struggles alone. Opening up to our parents, teachers, and trusted people is a brave step toward healing, growth, and understanding.

Through the activities and discussions, we gained valuable lessons and meaningful insights. We left the event with 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 and a deeper understanding of the importance of supporting one another. 🤝💚
