Booklad continued its literacy journey last March 16 at Andres Bonifacio Elementary School โ I, where Grade 2 learners explored the joy of storytelling through a series of engaging and imagination-driven activities.
The session began with a lively round of โI-Spy,โ encouraging the children to identify objects and practice describing what they see.
This was followed by a Picture Sequencing activity, where the learners arranged a set of illustrated scenes in the correct order. Through this exercise, the children practiced understanding the flow of events, an important skill in both reading comprehension and storytelling.
Miss Ruby Padasay, Reading Intervention Specialist from the Center for Reading Assessment and Intervention (CRAIN) Bacolod, then guided the learners through the Guided Story Creation activity. Using the arranged picture sequences as inspiration, the children worked together to build their own story.
The session ended with the learners proudly presenting their reimagined new ending to the story, showing how their ideas, creativity, and teamwork can transform simple pictures into meaningful narratives. ๐โจ
