The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) officially opened the “𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐬: 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐠”on October 27 at the SMX Convention Center, Bacolod City.

Nicole and Jerryl showcased 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐎𝐍,𝐚 𝐆𝐈𝐒-𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 , that enhances DRRMO operations through real-time mapping, data sharing, and community collaboration.

Under the mentorship of Mr. Lenny Betita and Coach Charles Torres, the team proudly demonstrated how innovation and technology can drive resilience and preparedness in local communities.

Four BSIT students from LCC Bacolod proudly represent the Society of Innovators, Programmers, and Designers (SIPD) in the Hack4Gov 2025 regional competition organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). The team is composed of Angel Luceño, Gilbert Lerion, Marc Giestin Louis Cordova, all BSIT 3 students, led by Team Captain Vincent Manalo from WEB3 SIPD, with Mr. Charles “The Coach” Torres serving as their faculty mentor. The event takes place at Vermillion Hotel, Iloilo City.

Hack4Gov is a national hackathon that gathers students, developers, and IT professionals to create innovative digital solutions for e-governance and cybersecurity challenges in the Philippines. Organized by the DICT, it aims to promote innovation, collaboration, and cybersecurity awareness, encouraging participants to design systems that enhance public service delivery, transparency, and data protection.

Through their participation, the LCC Bacolod Cybersecurity Initiative of the BSIT program, in collaboration with the Society of Innovators, Programmers, and Designers (SIPD), showcases the institution’s strong commitment to integrating cybersecurity awareness and innovation into the academic curriculum. Their involvement reflects the spirit of creativity, technical excellence, and teamwork championed by the SIPD community. The entire SIPD community expresses its full support and confidence in the team as they carry the school’s pride and excellence in this prestigious competition.

According to Mr. Charles “The Coach” Torres, “Hack4Gov provides an excellent opportunity for our BSIT students to showcase their skills, innovative mindset. It allows them to apply what they’ve learned to solve real challenges that impact the community and the government sector.”

Top Mini App Winners Announcement

The Base Build event at La Consolacion College–Bacolod, held last October 4, 2025, gathered nine talented teams for an intense 7-hour Hyperthon. Their challenge: to design and build mini games centered on replayability and originality — games that players would love to return to again and again.

Throughout the day, participants showcased not only their programming and design skills but also their creativity, teamwork, and quick problem-solving under pressure.

After hours of coding, testing, and refining, the top-performing teams emerged:

Top 2: Bullet Heaven – ₱2,500

Top 3: Base Platformer – ₱1,500

Top 4: Word Scramble – ₱1,000

Top 5: Number Sniper – ₱1,000

Congratulations to all the winners and participants who poured their creativity and energy into their projects. The event highlighted the growing passion for game development and innovation within the LCC Bacolod community.

📢 NOW HAPPENING: SIPD x Base Philippines Hyperthon Event at LCC Bacolod

The Society of Innovators, Programmers, and Designers (SIPD) of LCC Bacolod proudly partners with Base Philippines for the Hyperthon: Base Build Event, now happening at LCC Bacolod MC504.

Participants are showcasing their creativity and technical skills in blockchain innovation, competing for a ₱10,000 cash prize for the best project.

The event is guided by Base Philippines mentors Ray Tristan Publeo and Ryan Chris Ariego, who also manages the event — sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation of blockchain developers.

LCC Bacolod continues to push forward innovation through blockchain technology, empowering students to lead the next wave of digital transformation.
