LCCB BSIT Capstone Symposium 2026: Showcasing Innovation, Research, and the Future of Information Technology Excellence

Last May 7, 2026, the future of innovation, research, and technology took center stage during the LCCB BSIT Capstone Symposium 2026 held at the College Lobby Atrium, where BSIT students showcased innovative systems designed to solve real-world problems through creativity, research, and technical excellence.

The symposium formally opened with inspiring words from Gilbert Lerion, President of the Society of Innovators, Programmers, and Designers (SIPD), welcoming participants, faculty members, and guests to a celebration of innovation and student achievement.

This was followed by the opening remarks of Mr. Lenuel Betita, BSIT Program Head, who emphasized the importance of research, collaboration, and developing solutions that create meaningful impact in today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Adding inspiration to the event, BSIT Alumni were invited to witness the symposium and provide valuable feedback and encouragement to the aspiring IT professionals, reminding students that growth, persistence, and continuous learning are essential in the field of technology.

The capstone presenters were then introduced by Ms. Bethel Tisuela, who reminded the students:

“Your capstone is the culmination of everything you have learned and experienced throughout the past four years. It reflects not only your technical skills, but also your perseverance, creativity, and growth as future IT professionals.”

The symposium then featured the presentation of innovative capstone projects from the BSIT students:

4th Year Presenters:
AgriGIS by Nicole Martin Menez and Jerryl Perez
PharmaSync by Gerome Sinoy and Angelica Fuentebella
Crime Patrol by Vincent Manalo, Dianne de los Santos, and Jose Angelo Fuentebella

3rd Year Presenters:
LACO AI by Marc Giestin Cordova and Ian Dave Moreno
Assetory by Gilbert Lerion, Rey Rico, and Menchie Egan
LCCB Alumni Database and Tracking System by Marc Lorenz Las and Niben Tadiaque

Each presentation showcased the students’ dedication, technical expertise, and passion for building systems that address challenges across agriculture, artificial intelligence, healthcare, inventory management, public safety, and alumni engagement.

The LCCB BSIT Capstone Symposium 2026 highlighted the hard work, creativity, and dedication of BSIT students as they continue to develop the skills needed in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Through their innovative capstone projects involving artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, mobile technology, and digital automation, students are being prepared to adapt to emerging technologies and modern digital advancements shaping the future of the technology industry.

From theory to practice.

The ICT-CSS students of Negros Occidental High School (NOHS) are currently leveling up their technical skills during their Work Immersion at LCC Bacolod. Focusing on coding and web development, these future tech leaders are demonstrating the competence required to thrive in a professional digital environment.

The immersion has reached a significant milestone as Mr. Lenuel Betita, the BSIT Program Head, has officially tasked the 25 students with a high-priority project: developing the official NOHS Website within a two-week timeframe. Organized into five specialized groups, the students are collaborating under his mentorship to apply systems management techniques to build a digital home for their alma mater.. This achievement was made possible through the dedicated guidance of their mentors: Sir Charles Torres, who served as the coding mentor, and Sir Vincent Bonifacio, who guided the teams as the design mentor.

The culminating activity was attended by NOHS faculty members Mr. Adrian Nemes and Ms. Precious Silva, who witnessed the students present their final web projects. Their presence underscored the strong partnership between NOHS and the host institution in monitoring student progress and celebrating their technical milestones.

During the ceremony, outstanding achievements were recognized as awards for the Best Website Development , Best Presenter, and Best Poster were selected, highlighting the exceptional talent and competitive spirit of the groups.

Society of Innovators ,Programmers and Designers - LCC Bacolod (SIPD) expresses its sincere gratitude to the LCC Bacolod Marketing Office for making this immersion program possible. Their coordination and support have provided an invaluable platform for student growth and industry exposure.

Here are some images from their stay and the successful concluding ceremony at LCC Bacolod.
