Before steel becomes strong enough to withstand pressure, it must first be tested. The same is true of those who enter a path that asks for discipline and determination. The Neophytes Orientation Program is the first heat of that process. It introduces them to the standards they will encounter and gives them an early glimpse of the demands that come with belonging to the institution.

There will be no shortage of reasons to quit along the way. College will test their discipline, their patience, and sometimes even their belief in themselves. What will separate them is not who never struggles, but who refuses to let struggle decide the ending. NOP is where that mindset begins.

𝗩𝗠𝗔 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀

VMA Global College joins the faithful in the solemn procession as the Diocese of Bacolod welcomes its seventh bishop, His Excellency Most Rev. Louie Galbines, on August 10, 2026.

Upon his arrival, Bishop Louie Galbines was warmly welcomed by the former Bishop of Bacolod, Most Rev. Patricio Buzon, during his installation as the seventh Bishop of the Diocese of Bacolod. The ceremony was attended by priests, faithful, and delegates from various schools who gathered to witness and welcome the new bishop.

Bishop Louie P. Galbines previously served as the Bishop of the Diocese of Kabankalan before Pope Leo XIV appointed him as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Bacolod on May 14, 2026, succeeding Most Rev. Patricio Buzon, whose resignation was accepted upon reaching the retirement age for bishops.

Galbines is no stranger to the Diocese of Bacolod. His appointment marks a return to the diocese where he was ordained to the priesthood on April 29, 1994, and where he served in various pastoral and leadership roles before becoming Bishop of Kabankalan in 2018, and ordained to the episcopate on May 28, 2018, at San Sebastian Cathedral in Bacolod City.

𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗡𝗢𝗣 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺

First-year students took part in the Neophytes Orientation Program (NOP) Symposium on August 7 at the RSB Gymnasium, featuring discussions on emotional well-being, informed decision-making, and institutional policies.

The symposium opened with welcome remarks from Capt. Niño Elson O. Salabas, followed by discussion about “Navigating Emotions: Safe Choices in Challenging Situations,” led by VMA Guidance Associates Ms. Anne Paula Fatima Geriane and Ms. Mary Joy Muya. PO1 Greg S. Soria, PN also discussed “Informed Minds, Protected Futures: An Anti-Insurgency Seminar,” highlighting the importance of awareness and informed decision-making among students.

In the afternoon, CPO Dionisio L. Milano Jr., PN (Ret.) presented the students’ handbook, acquainting the first-year students with the college’s policies, guidelines, and expectations as they begin their college journey.

The symposium aimed to equip the neophytes with essential knowledge and guidance as they adjust to the academic new environment.
