𝗖𝗔𝗠𝗛𝗦 𝗣𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗬 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗕𝗔𝗚𝗦 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗜𝗡 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗢 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Fostering care and excellence, the College of Allied Medical Health Sciences (CAMHS) Pharmacy Department clinched first place in the Poster Presentation Category during the University Research Expo 2026 with the theme, "Learning for All: Redefining Education and Empowerment in the Digital Age," at the University Gymnasium, May 7.

“The overall experience was nerve-wracking, especially since we were given so little time to prepare, ultimately, we just gave it our all and enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, we lifted our fears to the Lord, in the end, all the worries and doubts were worth it," fourth-year Pharmacy student and Research Leader, Carmela Marie Alinsunurin shared.

The Medical Technology Department also secured the first runner-up title in the Oral Presentation Category, presented by Elaine May D. Amaguin, Christian Kyle Jay H. Chua, Radz Junel G. Constantino, Jopay A. Dante, and Leslie R. Espinosa.

“Congratulations, my dear students, for bringing pride and excellence to our College department through your remarkable achievement at the EXPO 2026, your dedication, creativity, teamwork, and passion for innovation truly reflect the spirit of empowered learning and academic excellence,” Pharmacy Research Adviser John Alecxhander Advincula, RPh, expressed.

In addition, Sir Advincula noted that this achievement is not only a testament to the students’ hard work but also an inspiration to others to continue pursuing knowledge and meaningful change in this rapidly evolving digital era.

Moreover, the first-place winning research is entitled, "Multi-Modal Evaluation of the Anti-Angiogenic and Mitosis-Inhibitory Properties of Cadena De Amor (𝘈𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘴) Leaf Extract Through Chorioallantoic Membrane and Mung Bean Seed Bioassays."

Last Monday, April 20, the College of Allied Medical Health Sciences, Department of Nursing of the University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos held its Research Expo 2026, an academic event aimed at highlighting the significance of research in advancing nursing practice and improving patient care.

The expo underscored the vital role of evidence-based practice in the nursing profession, fostering critical thinking, innovation, and informed decision-making among future nurses.

During the event, fourth-year nursing students were given the opportunity to showcase their research studies through both oral and poster presentations, demonstrating their competence and dedication to contributing to the field of healthcare.

𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐔𝐍𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐇, 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐓 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐇

With a commanding 1,430 points gathered, the CAMHS Serpents took home third runner-up at the Perpetual University Cup 2026 and clinched the first runner-up spot in the overall standings.

Every match tested their limits, but they answered with grit, discipline, and relentless drive—leaving a mark that won’t be easily forgotten.

This is not a finish line—it’s a warning. The Serpents are building momentum, and the next time they step onto the field, they’ll come back even stronger.
