Sa paggunita ng ika-40 anibersaryo ng EDSA People Power, buong pagmamalaki at pakikiisa ang National University Bacolod sa pag-alala sa makasaysayang tagumpay ng pagkakaisa ng sambayanang Pilipino.

Patuloy naming isusulong ang diwa ng katotohanan, kalayaan, at katarungan. Ito ay mga pagpapahalagang nagbibigay-lakas sa bawat iskolar ng bayan upang maging responsable, makabayan, at makataong lider ng kinabukasan.

Guided by the theme 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙖 𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠, 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙖 𝙇𝙞𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮, the NU Bacolod Learning Resource Center proudly celebrates the successful completion of its 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲—made possible through the generosity of the entire NU Bacolod Community, including students, faculty, and ASP. 💛💙

Through this collective effort, a total of 𝟮𝟳𝟵 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 were gathered, consisting of fiction books, textbooks, reference materials, and educational magazines—each contributing to the growth of shared learning spaces beyond our campus.

The donated books were delivered through the dedicated efforts of Ms. Nancy O. Go, in collaboration with the NU Bacolod Community Extension Office headed by Mr. Jose Marie Portal. These were formally turned over to the 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗢𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 (𝗥𝗮𝗳𝗮𝗲𝗹 𝗠. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆) and received by Ms. Raia Tiongson.

This initiative truly reflects the spirit of our theme—where every donated book helped build a library and extend the reach of knowledge to the wider community. 📖✨

📌𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗦 📝

Due to the high demand of our books and to observe responsible borrowing and usage of library materials, the implementation of Library Fines and Charges will take effect starting October 1, 2025.

This is based on the Internal Memorandum with Reference No.: BCD-ACD-LRC-D-2025-002 issued last September 25, 2025, entitled “Implementation of Library Fines and Charges.”

For your guidance, please refer to the matrix of fines and penalties posted below. All payments shall be settled at the University Treasury Office and validated with the Circulation Librarian.

Let us work together in promoting accountability and in sustaining the quality of our library services, Nationalians! 💛💙

Ngayong Agosto, nakikiisa ang NU Bacolod Learning Resource Center sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa na may temang:

"𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙖 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙖𝙩 𝙆𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙗𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙞𝙠𝙖: 𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙖 𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙖," sa pangunguna ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino.

Alinsunod sa Proklamasyon Blg. 1041 s. 1997, layunin ng pagdiriwang na ito na paigtingin ang pagpapahalaga sa wikang Filipino at mga katutubong wika bilang bahagi ng ating pagkakakilanlan at kasaysayan.

📖 Mga 𝙉𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙨! Inaanyayahan namin kayo na bumisita sa NU Bacolod LRC at tuklasin ang koleksyon ng mga aklat na isinulat at inakda ng mga Pilipinong manunulat. Sama-sama nating pagyamanin ang ating kaalaman at pagmamahal sa sariling wika!

The Legacy of Don Mariano Fortunato Jhocson 💛💙

On August 1, 1900, Mariano Fortunato Jhocson lays the foundation of a visionary dream with the establishment of Colegio Filipino. What begins as a modest initiative to provide accessible education soon evolves—first into Colegio Mercantil in 1905, then National Academy in 1916, and ultimately, on January 17, 1921, into what we now proudly know as National University.

Throughout his life, Don Mariano remains resolute in his mission: to uplift the Filipino youth through education. With unrelenting determination, he faces adversity head-on and transforms each challenge into opportunity.

National University stands today as a living testament to his lifelong commitment, resilience, and enduring legacy.
