Our dear SMALC educators and staff recently gathered at the Benedictine House of Prayer, Nagtagaan, Rosario, La Union, for a meaningful 2-day annual retreat with the theme, “𝙁𝙖𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙎𝙩𝙚𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨: 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙂𝙤𝙙’𝙨 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮.”

The retreat provided a sacred time to pause, pray, reflect, and renew our commitment to our vocation as educators and servants of the school community. Through moments of silence, prayer, reflection, and fellowship, we were reminded of God’s goodness and our responsibility to faithfully care for the people and mission entrusted to us.

We proudly celebrate the remarkable achievement of our Michaelian swimmers at the Philippine Aquatics, Inc. (PAI) Region I, III & CAR Short Course Series 2026 – ABC & Novice Short Course Leg 1 Swimming Competition, held on August 15–16, 2026.

Competing among talented swimmers from across the region, our proud Michaelian swimmers brought home impressive results as part of our very own Bacnotan Swimming Bees:

among 26 participating teams

among 47 participating teams

St. Michael Archangel Learning Center (SMALC) of Bacnotan, La Union, Inc. proudly celebrates the achievements and participation of our talented Michaelian students in the 47th MB Carbonell Essay Writing Competition and Oratorical Contest.

Congratulations to Guenella Louresse G. Almodovar, a Grade 9 student, for bagging Second Place in the Essay Writing Competition, held on August 13 at the Bacnotan Trade Center.

We also commend Mariae Angel Claire M. Toledo, a Grade 10 student for proudly representing SMALC and showcasing her talent, confidence, and skill in the Oratorical Contest held today, August 20 at the Bacnotan Farmers’ Market Function Hall.

Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to their dedicated coaches, Ms. Irish Ediva G. Tumbaga and Mr. Karl Jayson G. Cabanit, for their guidance, patience, and unwavering support in preparing our students for these competitions.

We likewise extend our sincere appreciation to our School Principal, Dr. Caridad Q. Ramil, for her continued support and encouragement; to the proud parents and families, teachers, and classmates who stood behind our participants and cheered them on throughout their journey.
