Bacarra National Comprehensive High School is aware of two separate safety concerns reported yesterday and has immediately activated the appropriate verification, intervention, and safety protocols in coordination with concerned authorities.
The first concern involved a learner who was identified to have posted on social media ideations of threats against the public safety of the School. The matter had been appropriately attended to by school personnel before the end of classes. Immediate efforts were made to contact the learnerโs parents, and appropriate coordination and intervention were undertaken. The learnerโs safety and welfare were given immediate priority, and the matter is being handled with utmost confidentiality.
Separately, the school received circulating news about a possible actual shooting threat. The school immediately coordinated with the concerned authorities and undertook the necessary verification and precautionary measures. Based on the information presently available and the assessment conducted, no credible shooting threat has been established at this time. The school continues to maintain appropriate safety and security measures and remains in coordination with the concerned authorities.
The schoolโs Learning Continuity Plan and Contingency Plan are also in place and are being implemented. Regular classes and school operations are scheduled to resume tomorrow, October 2, 2026, with appropriate safety and security measures in place, as allowed under DepEd Order No. 6, s. 2026.
The school appeals to everyone to remain calm and to rely only on verified information from authorized school channels. Please refrain from sharing unverified reports, rumors, screenshots, or speculation, particularly on any social media and messaging platforms, as these may cause unnecessary fear and confusion.
To protect the privacy and welfare of the learner involved, the school will not disclose identifying information or other details concerning the case. Any information relevant to the safety and security of the school should be reported directly to the School Head or designated school personnel for proper verification and action.
