Ash Wednesday is an important day for Christians because it marks the beginning of Lent — a season of prayer, fasting, and reflection leading up to Easter. On this day, many Christians go to church, where a priest or minister places ashes in the shape of a cross on their foreheads.
The ashes usually come from the burning of palm leaves from last year’s Palm Sunday service.
These ashes remind us that life on earth is temporary, and call us to turn back to God. The words often spoken with the ashes — “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return” — remind believers of their human limitations and the need for repentance.
During Lent, Christians pray more, do acts of kindness, give up certain things as sacrifices, and prepare their hearts to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection on Easter.

4th Sunday of Advent 🟣🕯
December 21, 2025
As we light the final candle of Advent, we prepare our hearts with love, waiting for the coming of Emmanuel—God with us. This season reminds us that love is patient, faithful, and rooted in hope.
📖 “Let us love one another, for love comes from God.”
— 1 John 4:7
May our hearts be filled with love as we await the birth of Christ.
Blessed Sunday to everyone. 🙏✨
