Six years ago today, I was assessed by the amazing Jodi Clements from the Australian Dyslexia Association (ADA) and my official dyslexia and dysgraphia journey began.
It was the biggest relief to finally have an answer and in a strange way, having an answer set me free!
Not only did that mean I could work with my issues and get on with enjoying life, it also meant a whole new wonderful and supportive community invited me in.
Not only is Jodi THE dyslexia guru, she is also incredibly patient and caring & is never too busy to help me. Thank you Jodi for your knowledge and your help but MOST of all, thank you for everything you do for our dyslexic community xx

Dyslexia is neurobiological in origin, which just means our brains are ‘wired’ differently to what is considered ‘normal’.
It didn’t come about because you didn’t try hard enough.
It didn’t happen because you weren’t read to enough as a child.
And, it definitely didn’t come about because you weren’t smart enough!
Dyslexia is NO one’s fault!
We just have a different and unique way of thinking.
In fact it helps us to problem-solve in ways that others might not think of, so you could almost say our thinking is dystinct!
So be proud to be dyslexic, because after all, how will the world’s problems and challenges be solved if we all think alike!
