𝑬𝒌𝒔𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒈 𝑳𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒈𝒐: 𝑩𝒖𝒕𝒊

“Buti” ay isang salitang balbal sa Kapampangan na nangangahulugang “bakit”? o “bakit kaya”?

“𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙞 𝙝𝙞𝙬𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙣𝙖 𝙠𝙖𝙮𝙤?”
“𝘽𝙪𝙩𝙞 𝙣𝙖 𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜, 𝙣𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙤 𝙠𝙖 𝙣𝙖.”

Nalito ka rin ba? Inisip mo rin ba na magkaiba ang nilalayon ng salitang “buti” sa dalawang ekspresyon na iyan?

Marami sa mga taong hindi Kapampangan ang nalilito sa paggamit ng mga lokal sa salitang “buti.” Ang “buti” ay ang payak na anyo ng salita na nagpapahiwatig ng kabutihan. Ito ay kasingkahulugan ng “mabait,” “mahusay,” “maayos,” at marami pang ibang salitang may kahulugang katumbas ng mga nabanggit.

Sa mga Kapampangan, ang salitang ito ay kadalasang ginagamit sa mga ekspresyon kung saan ang katumbas ay “bakit?” o “bakit kaya?” at itinuturing salitang balbal. Dahil dito, nagkakaroon ng pagkalito o ‘di kaya’y pagkagulat ang iba na hindi lumaki kasama ang mga Kapampangan, lalo na kapag ito ay ginamit sa mga pangungusap o ekspresyon na kung saan hindi “buti” ang karaniwang dapat gamitin.

Ang tila nakatatawang pagkalito dahil sa salitang ito ay sumasalamin sa pagkayaman at patuloy na pagyabong ng mga wika sa Pilipinas. Ipinakikita rin nito kung paano nabago ang mga paraan at salitang ginagamit sa pakikipag-usap sa paglipas ng panahon.

Ang wikang Kapampangan, katulad ng marami pang wika sa bansa, ay may natatanging lalim, bunga ng ating mga kultura na patuloy na humuhubog sa mga salitang ginagamit natin upang makipag-usap araw-araw. Kaya nararapat lamang na patuloy natin itong gamitin at pagyamanin. At kahit ito man ay magbago, dapat pa rin nating pakatandaan kung saan ito nagmula.

On this day 40 years ago, Ninoy Aquino was assassinated as he stepped out of his plane, his death sending shockwaves across the nation.

He was a senator, politician, and father who protested the darkness of Martial law, shedding light onto the injustices and corruption faced by Filipinos everyday. He was a man who fought in spite of imprisonment, sickness, and threats to his life. Once, he said, "The Filipino is worth dying for." And until now, his message lingers in our present.

On this day 40 years ago, Filipinos tied yellow ribbons around trees and marched the streets in yellow, following his example in bringing waves of hope for democracy. 40 years later, let us honor Ninoy Aquino's memory by calling for accountability and justice for past and present victims of corruption, and let us tie a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree.

Noong 𝐇𝐮𝐥𝐲𝐨 15, 1997, ipinatupad ni dating Pangulong Fidel V. Ramos ang Proklamasyon Blg. 1041, na nagtatakda sa Agosto bilang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa upang pahalagahan at itaguyod ang wikang Filipino bilang bahagi ng ating pagkakakilanlan at kultura.

Ngunit, higit pa sa mga salita, ang Buwan ng Wika ay paggunita sa ating 𝙠𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖, 𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙨𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣, 𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙜𝙖 𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙪𝙢𝙪𝙝𝙪𝙗𝙤𝙜 𝙨𝙖 𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤. Sapagkat ang wika ay hindi lamang paraan ng pakikipag-usap, kundi tahanan ng ating mga kuwento, karanasan, at pananaw bilang isang bayan.

Dito sa Pampanga, ang ating katutubong wika ay 𝙆𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣—isang wikang hitik sa yaman at mga natatanging salita na kung minsan ay tila nakapupulupot ng dila, ngunit sumasalamin sa makulay na kultura at pagkakakilanlan nating mga Kapampangan.

𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦

The rains may be beyond our control, but how we respond to them is 𝗻𝗼𝘁.

When persistent rains disrupt roads, transportation, and the daily lives of people, waiting until the situation becomes critical should not be the standard. 𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙠𝙨.

The spark has been lit!

Old and new AB Communication students assembled at the St. John Paul Hall on July 30, 2026, for this year's General Assembly, themed "Silab ng Midya."

The event officially opened with a welcome remark from the College of Arts and Sciences Assistant Dean, Mrs. Cherry Lou de Ala. This was followed by an inspiring talk from the college's Guidance Counselor, Paul Gojar. The department chair, Mrs. Cristina Reyes also addressed the students, reminding them of the school's policies and expectations for the academic year.

This school year's SAMASKOM officers were introduced through a creative and fiery Audio Visual Presentation (AVP) further highlighting the theme fire.

Students showcased their wit and talent by acting out lines from famous movie scenes and testing their knowledge of music in a song guessing game.

As the event came to a close, the floor opened for a question-and-answer session, giving students the opportunity to raise their concerns and ask questions to help them navigate the new academic year with confidence.
