Celebrating a night of togetherness, the AUF College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) Tigers gathered with their families for this yearโs Family Day, themed โConnecting Hearts, Bridging Families,โ held at the AUF Sports and Cultural Center Activity Area on March 21.
The College Parents Association (CPA), in collaboration with college administrators, faculty members, and students, organized the annual event to bring families together for a night of unity and celebration.
To kick off the event, Ms. Alleluia S. Reyes, a faculty member from the AUF College of Education, delivered a seminar on โCommunicating and Understanding Gen Z Childrenโ for the parents. Ms. Mariel Farrol, CPA Secretary, then facilitated an open forum, allowing parents to share insights and ask questions.
Following the seminar, students and parents proceeded to the registration area in preparation for the fellowship party. Student ushers distributed snacks and refreshments as attendees waited for the program to begin.
The fellowship program officially started at around 5:30 PM, with Paulla Jasmine Rivera and Glendel Carbungco energizing the crowd as emcees. Ms. Donna May Estimada led the opening prayer, setting a warm and reflective tone for the evening.
Dr. Chereโ Yturralde, College Dean, delivered the welcome remarks, while Mr. Arnel Aquino, CPA President, presented the statement of purpose. Both encouraged students and parents to relax, enjoy the night, and actively participate in the planned activities.
The program continued with intermission numbers, including a lively dance performance by the CBA administration, faculty members, and CPA officers, followed by a song performance from the CBA members of AUF Concert Chorus.
Soon after, attendees joined the first game, โLast Man Standing,โ facilitated by Trade Wings editor-in-chief, Deinber Datu. The activity brought excitement to the crowd as the first 20 winners of the night emerged, winning P500 each.
The energy remained high as non-mandated student organizations showcased their talents through dance presentations. Participating groups included the Council of Hospitality Management Students (CHMS), Young Entrepreneursโ Society (YES), Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), and the League of Tourism Students of the Philippines (LTSP).
As the program transitioned into dinner, students and parents enjoyed their meals while around 45 participants, who are students and parents, took the stage for the โSing It Nowโ challenge, showcasing their vocal talents and winning P300 each.
Adding to the eveningโs highlights, Mr. Harris Haelong Bulaong from BSBA-MM 3 serenaded the audience with his rendition of โIkawโ. He later invited Dr. Manuelita Valencia, College Assistant Dean, along with CPA officers, to join him on stage.
The celebration continued with a family talent presentation by the Sanchez family, the announcement of raffle prize winners, an open dance floor, and a โBring Meโ game hosted by the CPA where winners received gift certificates.
To conclude the program, organizers announced the winners of the dance presentations. The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) secured first place winning P12,000, followed by the Young Entrepreneursโ Society (YES) in second place winning P10,000, the League of Tourism Students of the Philippines (LTSP) in third place winning P8,000, and the Council of Hospitality Management Students (CHMS) in fourth place winning P5,000.
