In the quietest moments, when the weight of the world feels like too much to bear, we often find ourselves searching for something—anything—that reminds us of why we should keep holding on. For her, it was a corkboard by her bedside, glowing softly beneath twinkling lights. The board, filled with photos, notes, and scraps of old memories, seemed to radiate warmth, like a whispered reminder that love never really leaves us.

Her fingers brushed against the edges of Polaroids—snapshots of joy frozen in time. Smiling faces, shared laughter, the soft touch of connection—tiny gestures that whispered, “You matter.” A faded movie ticket from years gone by, a photobooth strip with your best friend from the photo studio in front of your university, and the good luck note you received from your classmate during exams week, all held within them the power to remind her of who she was and how deeply she had been cared for. They were more than just mementos. They were lifelines.

In those small, seemingly insignificant pieces of the past, she found a quiet truth: love doesn’t always need to be loud or grand. Sometimes, it’s found in the smallest moments—the ones that go unnoticed but hold the greatest weight. Those scribbled reminders to breathe, to keep going, spoke volumes. They weren’t just words. They were promises that even in the darkest hours, there is light to be found.

This board of memories wasn’t just a collection of things; it was a beacon, lighting a path back to herself, reminding her that hope flickers even in the blackest night.

As we recognize Su***de Prevention Month, let’s remember that being a lifeline isn’t always about dramatic rescues. It’s about the small, everyday gestures that remind someone they’re seen, they’re valued, they’re loved. A kind word, a quiet note, a shared moment—these can be the light in someone’s darkness. Your care, no matter how small, could be the reason someone chooses to stay. Together, let’s remind each other that no night lasts forever, and there’s always a new dawn waiting to rise.

A Celebration of
Harmonious Artistic Diversity
Peace, and Unity at Clark Museum (Museong Kapampangan)
This art exhibition features a diverse range of artworks representing harmony, unity, and reconciliation. The inspiration for these works stems from the diverse yet harmonious cultural heritage of the Kapampangan people.

The artworks, created using various mediums, engage in a harmonious dialogue and evoke a sense of shared humanity, mirroring the Kapampangan values of bayanihan (communal unity) and pamagsarili (self-reliance).

The exhibition honors the beauty, hope, and transformative power of unity. It invites viewers to engage and reflect collectively on the potential for peace, akin to the Kapampangan traditions of lugud (kindness and compassion) and sanib (collaboration).

Through this celebration of "Artistic Harmonies," Gamat Kapampangan aims to cultivate a space where diverse perspectives and narratives intersect, fostering a deeper appreciation for our shared values and the common threads that bind us together. This endeavor is inspired by the Kapampangan cultural character of pamisanmetung (unity) and pamikasundu (reconciliation).
The exhibit runs till September 30, 2024

"HAU-SUNLAG and Gamat Kapampangan: Aldo ning Mumunang Pulung ampo Pamakibaluan"

The Sunlag Heads, Patrick Earl De Dios and Ashley Nicole Victoriano, along with Artistic Director for Photography Kayel Salvador and their advisor, Sir Jai Cuevas, recently visited the Gamat Kapampangan.

The visit resulted in a productive meeting with the Gamat Kapampangan Artist Consumers Cooperative and Dr. Vittorio Pantig, where both parties discussed future collaborations and exciting plans for the semester.
