AMULUNG, Cagayan โ Dadda National High School (Dadda NHS) delivered an impressive performance at the Amulung Municipal Meet, earning medals and securing several slots for the upcoming Congressional Meet.
Leading the school's medal haul was the Taekwondo Team, which produced four gold medalists and Congressional Meet qualifiers: Trisha Mae Javier, Trisha Pacencia, John Lloyd Wiguan, and Lester Maguddayao. Meanwhile, Hannah Kate Villaroza and Michrac Crisostomo added silver medals to the school's tally. The team was coached by Marlvenzi Baculi.
In Chess Board Girls, Samantha Venice Cardenas emerged as the municipal champion, showcasing exceptional focus and strategic skill under the guidance of Coach Bengie C. Delarmino.
Dadda NHS also excelled in Athletics, with Zaijan Mike Belo winning first place in the 200-meter dash and third place in the long jump, earning a Congressional Meet berth. Christine Bulusan topped the triple jump, while Frisha Rendon placed second in both the javelin throw and discus throw, with all three athletes qualifying for the next level of competition. Other medal winners included Joice Furuganan (3rd, Triple Jump), Gleachel Villaroza (3rd, 400-meter run), and Reymar Canteras (3rd, 5K run). The team was coached by Aprile C. Ferrer and Mia Rose Jamaica Bumagat.
In Badminton, Krisha Verbo captured the gold medal in the Women's Singles event. Other participants who reached the finals included Zaijan Santiago (4th, Men's Singles), Kean Kiefer Diza and Princess Villaroza (4th, Mixed Doubles), JC JJ Cabildo and Matt Jazem Villaroza (4th, Men's Doubles), and Xyrille Bulusan and Cashmere Ancheta (4th, Women's Doubles). The badminton team was guided by Coaches Kayvin Orpilla and Mark Anthony Simangan, with assistance from Jocelyn Belo and Maynard Basa.
The Dadda NHS Volleyball Boys Team also showcased determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the competition, proudly representing the school in the Municipal Meet. Team members included Prince Castillo, Sialvin Bitales, Mike Aldrie Pablo, Frederick Manigos, Jaylord Wiguan, John Vhiany Bilag, Karl Vincent Buscas, Dijay Villaroza, Jaylord Cayaban, and Syjhon Villaroza. The team was under the guidance of Coach Ferick Malabad, whose dedication and leadership contributed greatly to the athletes' competitive spirit and performance.
The strong showing of Dadda NHS athletes reflects the school's commitment to the Municipal Meet theme, โPursuing Sports Excellence and Glory: Empowering Young Generations Through Sports and Unity.โ As the competition continues, the school remains hopeful for more victories and qualifications in the succeeding events.
The School Head, Ma'am Jackeline T. Sto. Tomas, congratulated the athletes, coaches, and supporters for their remarkable achievements and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence while upholding the values of unity, discipline, and sportsmanship.
The Dadda NHS community also extends its heartfelt appreciation and special recognition to Barangay Captain Honey M. Villaroza of Barangay Dadda and Kagawad Marcelo Medrano for their invaluable support and assistance in providing transportation for the athletes to and from the contest venue. Their generosity and commitment greatly contributed to the participation and success of the student-athletes during the Municipal Meet.
