It’s easy to walk past a stray and see them as just another part of the city, like the traffic or the pavement. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞.

This isn't just a "housing" issue for animals. It’s a heartbreaking loop of people giving up on pets, a lack of spaying and neutering, and the brutal reality of trying to survive in a concrete world that wasn't made for them. To really fix why so many lives are starting out, and ending, on the streets, we have to stop looking at the symptoms and start facing the real reasons why this keeps happening.

In the Philippines, millions of dogs and cats are living a life they never asked for. They aren't just "part of the street". They are lives that deserve a warm touch and a full belly.

This isn't just an animal issue. It's a reflection of our own humanity.

Heartbreaking news has surfaced from Dasmariñas City, Cavite, highlighting exactly why our advocacy is so urgent.

The Dasmariñas City Veterinary Office (DCVO) has started an investigation into reports of extreme neglect at a village pound in Barangay San Jose. 😿

The chilling details reported by the Inquirer:
📍A pet owner searching for her missing cat at a village-run facility was horrified to find animals allegedly suffering from starvation.
📍Viral photos and videos shared by animal rescuers showed skeletal remains, with reports even suggesting that starving cats had resorted to cannibalism just to survive.
📍While the Village Chief denies the claims of cruelty, the City Government has ordered a "swift and comprehensive investigation" and a temporary suspension of impounding operations in the area.

💔 This is why we say "ARAY."
This incident is a painful reminder of our specific objective: "To improve the current situation of animal pound centers in the Philippines." No animal deserves to be "rescued" from the streets only to face a fate worse than homelessness inside a facility that is supposed to protect them. We need accountability. We need humane standards. We need CHANGE.
