FIRST ROUND ELIMINATION FOR THE CLUSTER SCHOOLS PRESS CONFERENCE (CSPC)

Alimsog Integrated School invites all interested and qualified learners to participate in the First Round Elimination for the Cluster Schools Press Conference (CSPC). This screening aims to identify student-journalists who will represent the school in the upcoming Cluster Schools Press Conference.

General Qualifications:
Applicants must:
* Be a bona fide learner of Alimsog Integrated School.
* Demonstrate good academic standing and exemplary conduct.
* Show interest, dedication, and potential in campus journalism.
* Be willing to attend regular training sessions after class (4:00 PM onwards), including Saturdays and other schedules that may be necessary. Attendance during training is expected from all selected participants.
* Choose ONLY ONE (1) contest event. Multiple entries in different events will not be accepted.

Event Qualifications:
News Writing
* Able to gather facts and write clear, accurate, and objective news stories.
* Possesses strong grammar and writing skills.

Editorial Writing
* Demonstrates critical thinking and sound judgment on current issues.
* Writes logical, persuasive, and well-supported opinion pieces.

Column Writing
* Expresses ideas creatively with a distinct personal voice.
* Demonstrates insight, originality, and effective opinion writing on relevant issues.

Editorial Cartooning
* Possesses artistic talent and creativity.
* Effectively communicates ideas and opinions through illustrations and visual symbolism.

Feature Writing
* Demonstrates creativity and strong storytelling skills.
* Can write engaging human-interest stories using descriptive language.

Science and Technology Writing
* Has an interest in science, technology, environment, and innovation.
* Can explain scientific topics accurately and in an engaging manner.

Copy Reading and Headline Writing
* Has excellent command of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
* Can edit news stories accurately and write concise, effective headlines.

Sports Writing
* Knowledgeable about various sports and sporting events.
* Can write accurate, informative, and engaging sports stories.

Photojournalism
* Has basic photography skills and a keen eye for capturing newsworthy events.
* Can compose quality photographs and write accurate, informative captions.

Submission Requirements:
Interested applicants must submit ONE (1) original article in the contest event they wish to join to:

From June 1 to 5, 2026, our school will conduct its Maintenance Week dedicated to cleaning, repairing, repainting, gardening, and improving our learning environment for the safety and comfort of our learners.
