Myrna Mallorca-Dela Cruz, a proud graduate of Malabog National High School (Class of 1990), is the embodiment of what it means to be an empowered woman, a dedicated public servant, and a social worker at heart. Guided by her life principle - โto stay true to herself, seek growth, cultivate meaningful relationships, embrace resilience, and always live with gratitudeโ- Myrnaโs journey has been one of perseverance, leadership, and unwavering service to others.
Even at a young age, Myrnaโs commitment to public service was already evident. She was elected as an SK Councilor in Barangay Salvacion, Daraga, Albay, where she began her journey of leadership and community involvement. She later pursued her passion for helping others by taking up a Bachelor of Science in Social Work at Bicol University College of Arts and Sciences, where she graduated in 1994. She further honed her expertise by completing a Masterโs degree in Public Administration at Emilio Aguinaldo College in 2022, after previously completing 54 units in the same field at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines.
Currently serving as a Presidential Staff Officer at the Office of the President, Malacaรฑang, Myrna has held various key roles in government since 1999, working in finance and administration with a strong track record of excellence. Beyond her administrative duties, she remains deeply rooted in her values and passion for social work. Despite the challenges of working in a dynamic and often politically charged environment, she has stayed true to her apolitical stance, allowing her work to speak for itself. Her personal mantra, โThe only way to do great work is to love what you do,โ has clearly shaped her commitment to service and integrity.
Myrnaโs commitment to service extends far beyond her official duties. As a highly supportive and engaged alumna of MNHS, she has made a lasting impact on her alma mater and community. Recently, through her endorsement, fellow alumni sponsored and conducted a medical mission on February 10, providing free healthcare services to residents of nearby barangays. She also facilitated the donation of 15 computer sets from PAOCC Undersecretary General Cruz to MNHS, benefiting the Araling Panlipunan Departmentโs Project AP Cares for Indigenous Peoples (IP) students, Students with Special Needs (SNED), and Alumni HELPS scholars. Her ongoing advocacy continues to bring educational and medical assistance to her batchmates and fellow barangay residents.
More than titles and positions, what defines Myrna is her heart for others. Time and again, she has extended her help through quiet but impactful actions - uplifting lives through her endorsements, mentorship, and genuine concern. Her story is a powerful reminder that true success lies not only in professional growth but in staying connected to oneโs roots and using oneโs influence to uplift others.
As an empowered alumna of MNHS, Myrna Mallorca-Dela Cruz stands as a shining example of how success is not only measured by what we achieve for ourselves, but by how much we contribute to the lives of others. With every act of service, she honors her roots and exemplifies the true spirit of being a social worker - not just by profession, but by purpose.

Genette Mujarโs journey is a testament to resilience, passion, and empowerment. From humble beginnings in the Philippines to making waves in Canadaโs fashion industry, her story reflects the power of determination and the impact of giving back.
Raised in Upper Malabog, Daraga,Albay, she showed early promise in academics and the arts, earning awards for her talent. Yet, financial hardship forced her to pause her education to support her family by making handicrafts, allowing her siblings to continue schooling. Despite the challenges, she remained determined to pursue her dreams.
Genetteโs perseverance led her to earn a degree in AB Political Science at Bicol University, working as a student assistant to support herself. However, her passion for fashion design eventually steered her to Vancouver, Canada, where she studied at the Visual College of Arts and Design. There, she earned the Best Achievement Award in Fashion Design, which marked the beginning of her remarkable career in the fashion industry.
Her designs soon gained recognition on international platforms, including the Vancouver International Fashion Festival and Vancouver Fashion Week. Her work has been featured in prestigious magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Wall, and Elegant Mag. Genette has received numerous awards, including the Bayanihan Gawad Parangal (2023), Most Outstanding Filipino in Canada (2024), and a nomination for the Canadian Choice Award (2025).
More than a designer, Genette is a mentor and advocate for inclusivity and gender equality in fashion. She teaches sewing, drawing, and pattern-making to aspiring students, remembering her own struggles. She collaborates with fashion schools and community organizations to create opportunities for underrepresented individuals and promotes inclusivity through workshops, mentorships, and diverse representation in fashion spaces.
Through her journey, Genette Mujar has proven that talent, when paired with determination and compassion, can transform lives. From crafting to support her family in the Philippines to becoming a celebrated designer in Canada, her story continues to inspire. With every stitch and design, she not only builds her legacy but also uplifts others along the way.
