With a strong call for unity and continuous transformation, Alabat Island National High School (AINHS) highlighted its accomplishments, challenges, and future directions during the 2026 State of the School Address (SOSA) and General Parent-Teacher Assembly (GPTA) held at the school gymnasium, reaffirming its commitment to excellence under the guiding mantra: โMatuto (Learn), Manguna (Lead), Maglingkod (Serve), at Magbago (Transform).โ
The event gathered the Municipal Mayor, Vice Mayor, Municipal Councilors, school administrators, faculty members, parents, and other stakeholders in a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and stronger schoolโhomeโcommunity partnerships.
In her address, School Principal IV Mrs. Leilani A. Pregellana presented a comprehensive report on the schoolโs accomplishments, challenges, and future directions. Discussions covered enrollment trends, strengthened Senior High School curriculum and special programs, learnersโ academic performance, remediation initiatives, innovations, support services, financial and resource management, SPTA accomplishments, facility improvement projects, and priority plans for School Year 2026โ2027. The report also acknowledged key institutional challenges, including high dropout rates, infrastructure development needs, teachersโ professional development, limited project funding, student competence levels, and ongoing curriculum and policy shifts that continue to shape instructional delivery.
The entire report evolved around the schoolโs guiding mantra: MATUTO (Learn), MANGUNA (Lead), MAGLINGKOD (Serve), and MAGBAGO (Transform).
Anchored on these four pillars, Mrs. Pregellana emphasized that AINHS continues to nurture learners through quality education, leadership development, community engagement, and transformative programs.
โOur journey reflects a simple yet powerful progression: MATUTO (Learn), MANGUNA (Lead), MAGLINGKOD (Serve), and MAGBAGO (Transform). Together, these pillars define who we are and who we aspire to become as a learning institution committed to excellence and meaningful change,โ she said.
The principal also underscored the schoolโs notable achievements in academics, sports, and cultural competitions, along with significant improvements in learning facilities and educational resources. She likewise recognized stakeholders, local organizations, and private individuals for their generous monetary and in-kind contributions that have greatly supported school programs and student welfare.
Meanwhile, SPTA President Mrs. Chona M. Lerum presented the associationโs financial report, accomplishments, and donations received throughout the year. Administrative Officer IV Mr. Arvin Zeta discussed key school policies, including health and safety protocols, proper visitor and parent attire, gate pass procedures for school personnel, and measures to further strengthen parentโteacher collaboration.
The program concluded with a raffle draw for parents as a gesture of appreciation for their unwavering support, made possible through the generosity of the Municipal Mayor, Vice Mayor, Municipal Councilors, the SPTA Federation, and the Personnel Club Officers.
More than a presentation of accomplishments, the 2026 SOSA served as a reaffirmation of AINHSโ commitment to its guiding principlesโto MATUTO (Learn), MANGUNA (Lead), MAGLINGKOD (Serve), and MAGBAGO (Transform)โas the school continues its pursuit of excellence and meaningful change for every learner.
