Under the CAPITBISIG Program, the College of Engineering and Industrial Technology successfully implemented the project I-SEAMD (Innovations on Smart Engineering for Agro-Industrial Management and Development) through the activity titled โSustainable Water Systems Design for Agri-Tourism: A Community-Based Hydraulic Ram Pump Extension Projectโ in Barangay Cebolin, Trento, Agusan del Sur.
In collaboration with the LGU Trento and led by the Municipal Agriculturist, Engr. Deolita D. Abadillo, this initiative addressed the pressing issue of water scarcity affecting the Cebolin Agri-Tourism Complex. Farmers, Agri-tourism workers, and Local technicians actively participated in the hands-on training, gaining valuable knowledge on the installation, operation, and maintenance of hydraulic ram pump systems.
By introducing a sustainable, energy-efficient water solution, the project aims to ensure continuous water supply, reduce operational costs, and boost agricultural and livestock productivity. More importantly, it strengthens community capacity and promotes long-term resilience in agri-tourism development.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to advancing food security, climate-resilient agriculture, and inclusive rural development. ๐โจ
