The Agusan del Sur State University ROTC Unit successfully conducted its First ROTC Training Day on 19 September 2026 at the ADSSU Socio-Cultural Center, officially commencing the training activities for Academic Year 2026โ€“2027.

The training featured a ROTC Orientation lecture delivered by CDT MAJ ANALIZA S PASTERA 1CL, Brigade S1, providing the Basic Cadets with essential knowledge on the ROTC program, its objectives, responsibilities, and the standards expected of every cadet.

Also conducted during the activity was an introduction to ROTCMIS, facilitated by Sgt Jonel S Manadero (Inf) PA, ADSSU Tactical NCO, familiarizing the cadets with the system and its role in ROTC administration and training management.

The activity was attended by MAJ NANCY P JACOSALEM PA (Res); Sgt Jonel S Manadero (Inf) PA, ADSSU Tactical NCO; Ms. Liezl S Lagman, ROTC Coordinator; GMAโ€™s; 1CL; 2CL; and Aspiring Officers, under the leadership of CDT LTC MIKE R TABOBO 1CL, Brigade Commander.

The successful conduct of the First ROTC Training Day marks the beginning of a journey centered on discipline, leadership, camaraderie, and service, as the new generation of cadets takes its first step toward becoming responsible and dedicated leaders.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY || Sgt Rommar Bacalso PA (Res), Former Executive Officer

โ€œSome leaders hold a position, but the greatest leaders leave a place in the hearts of the people they served.โ€

Today, we proudly celebrate the birthday of our Former Executive Officer, Sgt Rommar Bacalso PA (Res).

Sir, you have been more than just a senior to your juniors. You have been a leader, mentor, adviser, and a father figure to our unit. Your guidance, discipline, and dedication have helped shape us into better cadets and better individuals.

You taught us that leadership is not simply about wearing a rank or holding a position it is about serving others, setting a good example, and guiding those who follow. Your words and actions have left lessons that we will continue to carry wherever our journey takes us.

Although you are now our Former Executive Officer, the respect and appreciation we have for you will always remain. The memories we shared, the challenges we faced, and the lessons you imparted will forever be part of the story of our ROTC family.

On this special day, may God bless you with good health, happiness, success, peace, and many more years of meaningful life. May you continue to inspire and guide others, and may all the good things you have given to others return to you in abundance.

Happy Birthday, Sir Bacalso sir!

Thank you for being a great leader, a dependable senior, a mentor, and a father to our unit. Your position may have changed, but the place you hold in our ROTC family will always remain.

From your ADSSU ROTC Family, with utmost respect and gratitude Happy Birthday, Sir!

The National Service Training Program (NSTP) successfully conducted the NSTP Mandatory 25-Hour Common Module on 29 August 2026 at the ADSSU Socio-Cultural Center.

The activity served as an avenue for students to deepen their knowledge and awareness of vital concerns affecting the community and the nation. Key discussions included Drug Education, facilitated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA); National Security Concerns; and Internal Security Concerns, discussed by Pat Junbert M Barrientos.

The activity was hosted by Mr. Jestoni P. Aligway and attended by Ms. Liezl S. Lagman, NSTP Head; NSTP Staff; Graduate Military Assistants; and ROTC Officers, led by the Brigade Corps Commander, CDT LTC MIKE R TABOBO, 1CL.

The session concluded with a quiz and question-and-answer activity, encouraging active participation and allowing students to demonstrate their understanding of the topics presented.

More than an academic requirement, the NSTP Common Module is a reminder that knowledge builds awareness, awareness strengthens responsibility, and responsibility inspires service. Through continuous education and active participation, ADSSU NSTP remains committed to developing disciplined, responsible, and service-oriented students ready to contribute to the community and uphold the welfare of the nation.

๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ NATIONAL HEROES DAY | 31 AUGUST 2026

โ€œHeroism knows no title, no position, and no name only courage, sacrifice, and service.โ€

Today, we honor all our heroes known and unknown, remembered and forgotten, in governance or without position, in uniform or in ordinary clothes. We salute every Filipino who has served, sacrificed, helped, protected, inspired, and stood for others and for our nation.

To the heroes who made history and to the everyday heroes whose names may never be written in books your courage and sacrifices matter. From leaders who served the country to parents, teachers, workers, soldiers, farmers, volunteers, and every ordinary Filipino who chooses to do what is right, you are part of the story of our nation.

May we continue to honor their legacy not only through remembrance, but through kindness, responsibility, courage, unity, and service to others.

To every hero, known or unknown, thank you for making our nation stronger.

Happy National Heroes Day!
Mabuhay ang mga Bayani ng Pilipinas!
